I like your build idea there, seems very interesting with burns being so powerful but honestly I can take almost all other builds in 1v1 with this, once they hit the traps you can easily pull off a bonfire and skill 2 on axe and have a good condi burst

sure cele eles are the biggest counter to this along with medi guards with all their condi cleanse but once you get used to this build its easy to stay alive just as well as they do and get them down

The build is shown in the video, the enemy team were not the best in this game but I win most 1v1s and its great in team fights, especially when people are downed

[Revenant Feedback] Major flaws, improvements

I’ll start off by saying revenant has very much improved since the last beta and well done to Roy and the other staff working on it. Loving mace/axe i think its in a very good place at the moment and popping impossible odds for simply moving around with super speed is great. However it still lacks the ability to keep up with the other professions competitively:

1. Other Utilities PLEASE, seriously make this happen because a revenant cannot compete when locked into the utilities it has. Other professions can use any utility at any time and you never know which ones they will be using, with a revenant you see the legend and instantly know the skills and how to combat them, there’s not enough choice to make it truly viable or competitive. Some of the skills just lack impact at all anyways, I found myself only using one or two from each legend apart from Malyx which is the best by far. For example, The elite of Jalis does not feel impactful enough for me to ever use it, personally I think it should be changed. Other skills such as the shadowstep on shiro and chain on Jalis just aren’t worth the cost for a 2 second slow and taunt. Which brings me to the next point…

2. Removing energy costs from weapons: or at least reduce it, using any kind of utility already depletes the energy enough and it really hinders the revenant’s abilities. It would also be nice to reduce the energy cost of some utilities e.g. the chain on Jalis as previously stated. The traits don’t give enough survivability to revenant to actually sustain damage when energy is depleted.

3. Not enough condi cleanse, Malyx is the only chance of surviving a condi build in PvP, Ventari’s mechanic is too clumsy to use and the other legends or trait lines simply don’t have enough to come close to fighting celestial eles or engis.

4. Sword: Auto-attack is clunky and feels wrong, skill 2 is basically useless, make skill 3 on sword evade, skill 4 for sword needs its block fixing, skill 5 costs too much energy imo

5. Shiro heal skill basically feels like we don’t have one, I’m a fan of the shiro legend but the heal skill has made me remove it from my build and swap to Jalis/Malyx. I understand the design for it but in a practical environment it simply isn’t enough. The elite skill for shiro is fun but uses all the energy available so you can’t actually do much while they are stunned yourself, just have to use it at the right time for the team to take them down. (Also the elite has a tendancy to bug character animations on down state trait, not sure about normally?)

6. Jalis is supposed to be the tanky legend but the skills just offer stability and an easily-interrupted damage reduction. Tanky builds offer protection and regen which it completely lacks, I use it mainly for the stability and swiftness buffs along with the best heal skill revenant has. The hammer upkeep is ok, maybe add a buff while it is active (possible protection or regen?)

As far as hammer, staff and ventari go I haven’t done much testing with it. I will try to tomorrow to add to this but those are my overall impressions. I have played the story instance 3 times on rev, dragonhunter and reaper and the difference was insane. dragonhunter was a lot easier, somewhat due to learning the new enemy attacks, and reaper just absolutely tore through them with no difficulty or problems. I love the mechanics of revenant and the interaction with the legends so please take this into consideration <3

Update: I’ve found a pretty competitive build, its not perfect but it has a lot of potential and I never thought it would include staff! Staff seems in a very good place now apart from the skill 2 which feels too sluggish for just a stack of weakness and small damage but overall awesome feel. Celestial revenant could become a great thing with changes, its not bad for might stacking.
Hammer has also greatly improved from last patch and the team has done with the changes

Update: Even the ventari legend skills are better than previous beta, I was on knights gear and still giving out some ok heals. Bare in mind this is PvE based information, I refuse to try it in PvP because I know how bad it will go, but for PvE sure its decent, there is some potential

Mallyx - Any good condi-builds?

I found carrion maxe/axe with traveler runes to be decent to be honest, the main problem being the amount of conditions you apply depends on the amount of conditions on you which sucks
It is decent in team fights but in 1v1 scenario it can’t quite hold its own, I’ve won against a thief, ranger and even an ele (on zerk tho) but its still not quite there
Also you can do some great things with the malyx skill that applies confusion, build up enough energy (about 70%) and you can spam it for 12 stacks and watch them melt. If you’re precise enough to line up the attack it also pierces targets.
Most important thing I forget to do is swap legends to bring energy back up to 50% and stun break ect.

Revenant utility options?

Please tell me there will be multiple utilities to choose from in each legend
If we are restricted to our utilities and elites like we are at the moment they will be so easy to predict and counter, heals will be weak and there will be no sustain potential

I like how revenant works in combat, Carrion Mace/axe is a fun build (Although could do with more ways to apply condis) and looking forward to having more skills available

The major problem in terms of the amulets is that most of them suck. No one is ever going to take half the stat combinations because they have no synergy (especially magis). There needs to be a condition version of maruader with condition damage, power, precision and vitality. More amulets with 4 stats, and more hybrid amulets.

This is exactly how I feel, Please ArenaNet rework the stats to work with the new specialisation system. They worked in the previous system because it left a lot of points to be distributed. Let’s stick with magis example, you are 100% stuck with just healing power and a minor in vitality which is great sure but precision? What good is that precision without any way to get ferocity or any actual power? And what about toughness you’re just gonna get melted by pure damage anyway…

I used to play a really fun sentinel’s bunker guard where, in well balanced games, the mid fight could go on for most of the game, I miss the challenge and intensity of that. Bunker builds are dead, specialisations have basically killed them with some still around (e.g. WP’s revive ele sentinels build)

If any Dev can have some input here it would be majorly respected

Yeah I don’t understand how there aren’t some more 4 stat amulets, especially ones with 560 toughness and 560 vitality that could give everyone a bit more defense against huge burst while also still providing 2 offensive stats at 1050 points.

I was delighted to see Marauders and Crusaders amulets after the patch! We need more of them for sure

Maybe so but have you tried to use the AoE Moa effectively in pvp? It is pretty tough to land it when in an intense game and everyone is moving, then you have to wait 105 seconds minimum to try again

The point is rampage is currently ridiculous and while I did manage to kite a warrior on my condi ranger today it is a rare occasion that it happens since i have no stability on my build

So before I rant about this I have been playing since launch, pvp (r80) is where I spend most of my time in GW2. I play 6/8 classes now and love crafting builds.
However, after this specialisation patch I am left disappointed and disheartened by recent changes.
1. Burning – This ticks waaaay too high, guardians especially. You don’t even need to build for condition damage for your burning to kill people.
2. Rampage – The new lich form, overpowered with recent changes and anyone with half a brain can use it effectively
3. Mesmer stuns – insta-kill on almost every class and loads of people have started playing it for easy wins

And most importantly of all
4. PLEASE GIVE US SOME KIND OF WAY TO ASSIGN STATS OTHER THAN AMULET. Take some stats away from the amulets that are currently in game and give us back the ability to have an amulet and gem like the original way. Trying to create a build that is versatile or hybrid in any way is near impossible, there is only certain classes that can do this now. Its all zerk or marauders, get in, instakill, get out.
I love builds that give survivability and damage at the same time (mainly cele engi, which still works) but I can’t find many anymore.

Give us some way to add some vitality to a build or toughness, take that ridiculous amount of damage away. Most of the amulets in pvp are useless since they completely lack very important stats we used to be able to get from trait lines. Essentially its Zerk, Marauders, celestial or carrions.

I love the new traits and the system don’t get me wrong, but what you have made up for in build diversity by removing stats from trait lines you have cancelled out by not letting us assign those stats elsewhere. Major changes are needed and soon.

Fix the balance please.

How is this new system going to work in PvP? If the stats are being removed from trait lines and put into armour and weapons and PvP is where everyone has the same base stats. Does this mean runes will get stat increases to create the diversity it has at the moment?
This seems like a strange idea to implement into PvP where build diversity is needed more than ever to make it more fun

Helloo people, If you’re looking for a friendly, fun close family guild to join then look no further. Team REEM has been around since the game launched and once our members join they rarely look for any other guild!

We will not enforce an all rep rule but it is preferred and you may be asked when not repping (one of our members is also in QQ for WvW focus)

We have all guild missions unlocked and we complete them every Sunday

We are now doing bi-weekly guild events such as hide and seek, our summer games, WvW nights, PvP nights ect.

Any of our members may suggest an idea for guild events and we treat everyone equally, we’re not a hardcore guild however we are looking for active members (4-5 days a week) especially in the evening around 7pm GMT since thats when most of our guild missions are
