Hey folks, returning player here. Hopefully a straightforward question…
My thief in her 40s once had a coat like this:

It was a reward from a level 6 story quest. (Ran a new thief up to level 6 to get the picture.) I used transmutation stones to keep the look for a while, but somewhere along the way I salvaged it or something. I’d like to go back to that look, but can’t find another chest with the same appearance. Are there any, and if so how/where could I get them?
Not all of your health comes from your Vitality. Warriors have significantly higher base health: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Health
As to why? Probably because Guardians get more/better healing and defensive abilities, but, shrug

The Initiative mechanic does favor using a single skill repeatedly, yes. Not necessarily the same skill in every situation, but if that skill was the best use of init the first time, it’s probably the best a second/third/etc time too.
I’m not sure that’s particularly worse nor better (in terms of power, skill, or fun), than using your abilities as they come off cooldown, though.
Too bad, I was really looking at dual pistols for a “pirate/swashbuckler” type character. How does AOE blind work? I’d rather do that than dodge all the time! Sorry for the noobishness…
Nothing is swashbucklier than a sword in one hand and a pistol in the other!
The #5 pistol ability, Black Powder, drops a field for several seconds that blinds enemies repeatedly as long as they stay in the field. It’s not total invincibility, since it’s a pretty small field and enemies that attack quickly can get hits in between blinds, but it’s a dramatic boost to durability against melee foes. Using Pistol Whip to interrupt also goes a long way.
