Please excuse my ignorance but am I missing something? So far, except for the pvp stuff, all the events seem to be just another exercise in tedium. Long, boring, tedious, costly, and little to no reward. Even the achievements seem to be lackluster. I really loved the Marionette events, but the stuff I have seen in the Pavilion is just a pain.

Lame joke, unimaginative, not funny, and took the least amount of effort to implement. If I wanted an MMO to look like this I would be playing one that had Pandas in it. I wish I could disable it, since I can’t, I just won’t play.
Ciao
2 weeks to finish achievements, then wait and wait for an event, then fight unorganized laborious battles only to lose. And guess what, then you get to wait some more.
I guess the ArenaNet development team spends most of its time lounging around licking there backsides; great content, it shows.
ban me, whats the difference, I am just sitting around waiting anyway.
It seems like you can only use it once per character anyway?
I had to read that twice too, I guess they mean that the name change contract is only usable once, but not once per character. Maybe they’ll clear this up.
What they mean is buying this gives you an account bound item, consumable, that you can move around on your characters before using, but can only use once.
And $10 fits what I’ve seen elsewhere for a rename.
True, but I think many, like myself, believe those prices are too high and not a value. Consumers commonly will buy something multiple times if they perceive they are getting a value and avoid purchases that are not a value. I think many players would like to match all their characters with common surnames but will not consider it because of the cost; no sale. But if it was a value many more would purchase the name change; and purchase more name changes in the future. 1$ mobile apps sell very easily because they are cheap and a easy impulse buy. I think if they cut the cost in half, or more, they would more than double their sales, now and steadily for the future. It would likely increase sales to their whole consumer base, instead of a small percentage, making them more inclined to make other purchases.
I agree. Funny Anet, I was only a few laurels away from buying my first Ascended item. Good thing you put up that Daily Stone Wall so I won’t waste my time choosing what to spend them on.
Thank you ANet for removing the frustration of doing the Daily Quests. Now I just won’t do them any more at all. Only 2 on the list that I would be interested/able to do, so no longer a question of loging in shortly after 4 pm.
In a way it’s sad though, I didn’t miss more than 2 or 3 dailys since I started GW2.
P.S. Guild Missions don’t have any interest for me. I’m only in a guild to avoid the constant chatter/invites that are thrown my way whenever i’m not in a guild.
Now, what to do with the laural….. lol
I agree with what Humpink has said. I have really enjoyed the challenge in playing WvWvW over the last several months on Ehmry Bay. But the model is flawed, and will be so. With the announcement of the end of free server moves there will likely be a huge population gap between many servers. On top of that, there will be another possibly huge gap in those players who do and do not play WvWvW. The mismatch of numbers, quality of players, and the wavering times people play will likely cause many to be soured, and then simply stop playing. Many will jump in and out discovering and rediscovering the PvP play but it will be either erratic or banal, depending on what server you land on.
It seems that on this and other issues NCSoft/ArenaNet does not want to listen to its players.
I hope I am wrong, but I have already stopped playing, its boring.
Sadly, I have tried the vault everyday this week with no luck. I have participated in WvWvW several times of the past week for several hours and I have racked up a total of 1, yes 1, badge. So I am writing off the whole WvWvW portion of the game, it truly is a waste of time and effort. I think ArenaNet has done a good job addressing issues in the game. Compared to other MMOs first months online they are doing a good job. However, they need to listen to the fan base more. Badges are not physical items players carry or may drop, they are marks of accomplishments and so they should be tallied just like any other achievement in the game; and not be required to be picked up by the player. I have been playing MMOs since they were text based, I think I am right on this point.
Yesterday I made my first run to the WvW vault and discovered that the vault was bugged, a real disappointment.
