Why would anyone want a necro over others?

in Necromancer

Midgardener.6701

Regardless of one might personally opine (or try to prove with real numbers) about Necromancers in dungeon runs, the lack of any sort of response from the OP makes me think this is more about seeking excitable reactions than an actual quest for useful discourse or substance.

TLDR; OP is trolling Necro players for some reason or another. Please do not feed any longer.

Perm swiftness question?

20 points in Air Magic with Quick Glyphs (adept) and Inscription (master).

Activate Glyph of Elemental Harmony (now 20 second CD) for default 20 seconds of Swiftness.

Take a few slots in Arcane so that boon duration is higher than default.

That’s all you need, regardless of weapon set. Best if you plan to have multiple glyphs on your bar.

Axe/Dagger?

I’m a “Surreal Player”.

Running an oddball 15/20/0/20/15 Axe/Dagger build in Knight’s armor with a side helping of Carrion to spice things up a bit. Blurring the power/conditional/crit boundaries, I guess.

I wouldn’t mind being able to use a spear on dry land. For any class.

I believe that Axe 2 provides 4% life force during the channel and yah, Axe 3 has zilch.

Spiteful Spirit (Spite 10) would provide 3 seconds of retaliation when entering DS.

I was going to level my mesmer for the challenge of it. Post-patch, I decided to have fun instead.

D/D & Stacking Sigils

in Elementalist

Only one stackable sigil type will function at a time (by design to keep things equal for two-handers) although I’ve noticed that two identical sigils will stack twice as fast. Stick the one you want on your main hand and something non-stackable for your off-hand.

This appears to depend on which thread we’re reading at the moment.

if you guys actally played an ele you wold know what i am talking about and agree 100% with me

I do agree. Anyone who is arguing simply hasn’t tried the class.

I’m happily playing one. Disagreeing with absolute statements to the contrary hasn’t really changed that, regardless of the lowest common logical denominator they’re attempting to reach.

Don’t buy Gems at all. Use in game money and exchange for gems if you really want gems.

Yes, quite.

Is the necro much weaker compared to the other classes

Do you mean damage wise though? From what I see necros deal good damage an they’re freaking tanky as heck. Necro and warrior both have the highest base hp.

I keep seeing this statement used for just about every class at some thread or another.

I was under the impression that all characters had a base 916 Vitality at level 80, and that the only differences were through traiting and equipment. In short, this would mean that the only defensive thing profession affects is potential armor defense, not health. Is this incorrect?

Ahhh, Vitality + differing Base Health scores. Thankee for that. (:

How can I tell what type of spells an ability is?

Point at the skill. The tooltip that pops up should tell you what type of skill it is.
