Only talking raids here (I dont know about PvP), as a commander my only problem with seing a necro join my party is.. how to say this nicely…. there is a high risk that its a “not skilled” player :/

I really hate saying this (And I also play necro myself both in and outside of raids), but there are alot of bad necro players. I “blame” it on minions and the necros tankyness. Many less skilled players pick up ranger or necro and use the minions/pet to tank while afk auto attacking.

That said, if its a good player, and I know there are planty of them, then necro will do good dmg, also in raids, and can easy take a dps spot.

Can you give me some tips or a source where I can actually learn to get a good Necro and what is important?
I mean gear ofc but when it comes to the pure skill of the player?

I just started to play a Necro and kinda enjoy it due to the different types you could be in and all the conditions you can force on the enemy.

My question the thread is about is if Necro is also a viable class for raiding, PvP and what else may come in the future?
I heard and read that most of the raiders wont be happy to see a Necro in the team even though I dont understand why..
Is there really such a high cap of requirements that even a whole class is not so nice for raiding?

Maybe someone can explain this topic to me (Im not only new to Necro, but also to the game)

I have a question to add: Is it possible to farm gear with my necro for my Ele?
Would be nice if I am able to learn Necro and farm for my Ele which I also enjoy.

I’m pretty new to the game, just started around 1-2 weeks ago.
I do have a Ele nearly level 80 and a Necro on 80 with the boost that came along with the game I bought (yeah, maybe not the best choice to instantly boost up a character, but I just had to do it).

My questions are: Should I have more than one main character? And is the Necro the right choice? I mean I read many threads in the past few days and Im not really sure about it. To be honest I do not really understand everything of the class and even have to get the 250 hero points for the elite skill…
And if necro is a good choice, what build can I go for until I reach my completed elite skill because atm Im just pressing keys..?
