honestly, a ladder will solved all the problem and it wont took anet long time to implement. Even only two teams are playing, they can still fight eath other in the ladder. The reason they won do it, I think, mainly b/c they want some extra money for paid. This is reasonable. But the currently sPvP environment is broken and people are leaving pvp in gw2. what they can do is implement a ladder for causal player and rented servers (cost gem maybe) for pros and big guilds.

if you must have this CnD to be hit., try pre-cast CnD and use steal, pretty much a guaranteed hit

steal is great! built-in stun break plus a shadow step which will not interrupt cast. try pre-cast PW, CnD and use steal, it is great combo to land these two skills.

With traits, addition dmg (Mug, it is quite a lot dmg), buffs, stealth, remove boons etc

Plus bonus skill based on target (warrior’s is my favourate) what else you can ask for?

Haste have 60 sec CD (48 with traits) and max 2.5 PW when haste is proc. If a thief is using haste to burst you die, you def need to use a equivalent long cd defensive skill to avoid the damage (either a stun break, blink skill or vapor form etc).

If a thief one shot you (11k++), it is ok because you are running glass cannon build and you are supposed to deal burst damage and take huge burst damage at the same time.

if a thief one shot you when you have low hp and stun break is in cd, it is still ok, because they just jump out at the right timing regardless whatever build they are running, you will die.

I think before complaining about one build or skill, why not you create another char and just try this out yourself. you will know it is not that easy to land it on good players, and you will know how to counter it by using this skill.

LoL @ OP. Have you ever tried all classes ? have you ever won a tournament? have you ever beaten any pro team aka Super Squad? Be the top player first before you claim this game is broken and not competitive. I know couple of friends who were top WoW players (4+ glad) and suck at gw2 at first. Some of them saying this game is crap and just back to wow, some of them learnt and having fun and keep wining in tPvP atm. Guess op can just back to wow and no one will say anything, because we do not care. Good at other games does not mean you should good at this game as well. ( L.James must win football world cup some day? )

Bought the game purely for competitive PvP as Anet mentioned in their pre-release events. Very disappointed at the moment and feels sorry to my friends as well.

Told friends gw2 is a highly skill based, competitive PvP game (with bonus PvE and WvW content), however, we can not see any cue of it atm as mentioned in this thread. Friends already blamed me of wasting their money although I know they are joking but really feels a bit sorry for them.

Don’t want to mention this, but Anet really behaved the same as Blizzard after launch. I WAS a Blizzard until Diabo 3. Thought Anet would treat players better as they did in BWE and those pre-release events. But apparently they are not, at least for the PvP community side:
1. not deliver their promises (you call this competitive PvP? real?)

2. totally ignore the player community (any feedback or reply from Anet so far? I meant the real reply not the ‘when its ready’. Respect your player and customers!! If this is not gaming industry, Anet will be stomped by this customer service quality)

3. transparency/track of development (where is the monthly delivery goals as mention in one of the interviews? for one time, I thought the entire company just took our money and gone. The PvP team, SPEAK and LET us know you are still alive!!)

Sad Anet is going the same root as Blizzard, thought you are different but seems all companies are the same – making money is your primary goal.
