Welp this happened to me too except I didn’t realize the chest came from a bug until after I opened it. I was kind of close to getting a chest so I just thought it was fine until I looked to see a bajillion HoM achievements. I don’t have a GW1 account either and it looks like we’re all getting the same achievements and points and things.
I just made a new character and the minute I got out of the tutorial story, I suddenly earned about 900 achievement points. I looked and saw I had “achieved” a ton of Hall of the Monuments ones when I have never gone to the Hall or played GW1. I also now have a ton of titles I never earned. The new character’s name was Zojja The Second if that makes any difference. As nice as that is, there is clearly something up with that. Also, guild chat glitched by saying I was not in a guild when I was representing one. I hear that’s happened to a few people and has probably been reported though.
EDIT: Oh, I see other people are having this problem too. I guess the game makers are already aware of this.
