Guild Wars 2

I’ve just bought the Shining Blade backpack and glider because it was on sale on the gem store…
I was honestly hoping it would be just one constant, like the angel wings (as far as I remembered them) but instead, the two items are for starters – using different colours for the cloth and I’m having a hard time matching them, and secondly when you do open and close the glider, the glider and backpiece go missing for a second, then reappear so it never actually looks like it extends/animates from the back item.

I really regret buying these and wasting gems. I’d like to hope they would make the transition between the two items when you glide/land to merge faster because I know they won’t amend them to one item.

I played Mesmer prior to HoT but since this expansion I’ve focused on my theif as Daredevil was a blast. Anyways I miss playing a ‘magic’ based class as I always do typically in MMO’s.
My problem is I’ve not played Mesmer with the Chrono build (love the 25% speed though and would like to keep it) But all of the builds on meta battle and the odd Google search seem to be focused around sword, I’m not a fan of playing melee as a Mesmer so could anyone please recommend me a decent ranged based spec that can dish out a fair bit of damage that can (hopefully) compete with the sword.

I mainly just do open world pve, a bit of fractals and the odd touch of WvW so a general, but more pve focused build would be appreciated, I’m not a fan of messing around with my build for specific events and such, too much of a casual player for that.

All day I’ve been weaving in and out of the game – checking atleast every 10 minutes to see if the vines into Overseers Cave have been removed…
When I say all say I mean from 11am til’ 11:04 at the time of typing this up.. Not once have I seen the event to get in there – and it’s the Last PoI I need for completion…

I really don’t like that I have to rely on other players do do the map events to that I can continue to play solo.. Grouping up for the HP’s are bad enough – been standing around those for ages too until i find other players who need them too.
Anything for map completion should be up to the player and not up to a group to finish this content – if I wanted to play with players I’d do the meta event, but I don’t want to do that, I want to finish my 100% map completion for every zone before I jump into the group experiences.

I’ve got 3 characters I like to maintain 100% on. and it’s taken me all day to wait for one PoI to become accessible, hm.

New Rev here (used the 80 boost).
I’m a fan of condi-based proffs, I play Condi Mesmer and Warrior as I find them more satisfying to play over power-based proffs.
I mostly do Fractals and Open World content like DS and TD events with the odd bit of WvW.

My question is are there any viable condi builds? MetaBattle doesn’t have much to offer for Rev and I cant find much on the forums more recent posts except people kittening over if Rev is OP or not.
I’m completely new to this class and don’t feel too comfortable trying things out as I’m a hoarder with gold and don’t want to keep splashing out on new gear sets – so that brings me here in hopes to find a nice condi build or I guess power if it’s not viable.

I’m back from plating my DD since the release of HoT and only touched my Mesmer now and again (for guild JP’s etc). But I’ve decided to play it again - only one problem. I suck at it, bad.
I have a full set of Zerkers and also an offset of Condi/tough/vit. And after reading posts and guides and metabattle I’ve taken up s/s +s/s. biggest issue is being kitten squishy and dying from everyhting when i pull more than 2 mobs, but fighting 2 at a time is slow (this is compared to being a DD which are kitten squishy but hell that staff hits hard). The mesmer just feels underpowered.
I can’t say what I’m running with because I’m constantly changing things around to find something that I’m comfortable with. I mostly play shatter because phantasm feels a waste when the phantasm dies or I shatter forgetting that 2/3 were phantasms, not to mention they aren’t worth it against normal mobs imo.

for now I’m just doing the Hot PS and after I’ll probably just do the TD, AB, DS etc and the odd bit of WvW and fractals too, so I’d like a well rounded build I don’t feel squishy or underwhelming with... My DD staff dps has a build i’m comfortable with doing any aspect of the game on, don’t see why a Mesmer doesn’t have the same!?

TLDR: I want to play mesmer, I suck. I need some shatter advice (power/condi) for PvE and WvW! Or not just shatter, something well rounded for a noob!

I’ve taken a long break from GW2 and I’m back and plan to stay a good while, my ‘main’ is a Warrior and well so far I’ve noticed if you’re not playing GS you’re doing it wrong. (I mostly roam in PvE and do the odd Fractal, once in a while i WvW where other weapons are more acceptable, but for this instance I’m talking about Dungeons/Fractals/The odd Exploration)
I ALWAYS have LB as my off weapon, but I really don’t enjoy GS, I hate standing still for #2, i always miss or fall of a cliff with #3, #4 is okay and #5 look like he might as well crawl on his hands and knees!

Who here mind telling me a decent build that is a dual wield playstlye I don’t want to lose the Movement speed from Discipline and I keep Tactics too for the Might sharing and improved LB, I keep swapping between Strength and Arms for when I use GS for fractals (as even tho I hate it, no other build seems to keep up with the damage) and then back to Arms for faster DW!!
