Update: Support took me through a number of fixes I was already aware of and had me download a few third party programs for diagnostics. With no fix from anything, I’ve been told to just wait until the next patch. The game will run with 1 file missing, but who knows what that might effect. Hopefully I will be able to play as normal while ignoring the missing file.

Same problem here, absolutely every fix I’ve tried will not work. No one in my household can complete the patching no matter what we try, we’re all always stuck at 1 more file.

I said they don’t all have to be met. Is there a problem otherwise?

So to preface, I haven’t played this game much since before Living Story S1. I have no idea what I’m getting into coming back and so much has changed. I will probably need a guild that can tolerate me being confused for a while and who might help catch me up on all the changes and events. I might need some direct help from someone because my comprehension can sometimes be bad.

I’d really like to get back into the game and make some friends to help keep me committed to it. In the past I’ve had some trouble staying interested because I’ve never really found a good group of people to get attached to or I always get confused and lost. I was also living in a hostile environment and my gaming time was very limited.

Some bits about me:

• I go by Fen
• I’m 25
• EST timezone, generally available
• I have two lvl 80s, a necromancer and a mesmer that I’m going to be looking to refamiliarize myself with. I would also like to RP them in either forums or in-game rp.
• I’m pretty shy and sometimes it takes me a bit to warm up to folks, but I will still try voice when its needed for things
• Being pretty socially inept, I soloed both my 80s and have only run a few dungeons and dabbled in PvP. I will need some coaching for anything other than PvE.
• LGBTQ woman
• mentally ill/neurodiverse (I will disclose more later, I dont feel comfortable just putting it all out there, but I will need some minor accomodations. you can ask me privately if you want to know more)

What I need:

• TC server only. I will not be moving.
• Members willing to help newbies and clueless returning players like me
• Variety of focus & activities. (PvE, PvP, WvW, Dungeons, Fractals, & RP. whatever else. Basically I dont want anything like a PvP only guild)
• Fairly interesting and lively RP facet
• Mostly casual guild, maybe some areas where people are more serious
• Any size, but maybe less large as I do want a community
• LGBTQ friendly with a strong LGBTQ population (use they/them pronouns with me)
• I’m an abuse victim and I need a safe environment so I will need that guarantee from the guild and a system of handling any internal issues like harrassment
• A good population of women and friendly towards women
• Mentally ill/Neurodiverse friendly (accomodating when necessary)
• Have a voice client available
• Have a website, forums, or other social media prescense
• Have rules regarding social consciousness and be willing to hear relevant feedback
• Able to understand that I’m currently in a really rough situation and can’t usually afford groceries, so it’s unlikely I will be purchasing HoT. Until things look up I will be playing only core content.
• 100% rep is ok but I might prefer flexibility to change guilds from time to time
• I’m ok with some trial requirements, if I really like the guild
• I will need time to test the guild, maybe a week or two, before deciding on full membership

You don’t have to meet absolutely everything, but if you feel the guild is a good match for me and I would make a good home with yall I will definitely check it out and count it as a possibility.

Guild leaders and officers, I may want to try each of these guilds out before I choose who to stick with as a main guild. I would like to apply for all three of you and make my decision after having a taste of each guild experience. Would that be acceptable?

Also can I get a quick estimate of the gender representation in each guild? Ideally, I would like to be part of a guild with a fair balance of women at least. If there are genderq/ueer or nonbinary members that would also be amazing. Just a relative ratio, if you would like to disclose such information.

Thanks Aidyn. I’ll definitely take a look at the website and decide sometime this week if I want to apply (got some other stuff to handle first). Sounds good so far. 100% rep isn’t necessarily a deal breaker, my older guilds are pretty quiet these days.

To anyone else viewing, I’ll still hear more offers. Ideally I’d like to compare a few guilds.

So I played at release and for about six months? But then some nasty stuff in life happened and I just happened not to play for about a year. I think the last time I played was the past winter event. Things have since calmed down and I’m looking to get back into the game. I’m pretty displaced and out of the loop as far as updates go, but I’m learning the changes.

Fantastic guild! Safe spaces are very important. Women should be able to have fun without having to worry about bullkitten.

I’ve read over all PMs, mails, and posts sent to me. I have two guilds in mind right now which I may consider joining, but I am still open to invites, as I have not yet made any decision.

EDIT: I do have an unused [Letter of Commendation] which my chosen guild shall be receiving the benefits of.

I realize this may be tall order, but it’s worth a shot. I’ll be happy if I can find someplace that can meet some or all of my requirements (haha good luck, right?).

I’m looking for:
- Fort Aspenwood based (I may transfer under favorable conditions)

- friendly, respectful, decent sized guild (I am also willing to help establish small guilds in some cases)

- mature players (keeps the drama and intense foolishness minimal)

- active roster, but not strict or overbearing participation rules (I work 30+ hours a week, + friends and family obligations)

- LGBT and woman friendly. low on racism, misogyny, and bigotry (obv it’s not a perfect world, but I think I can ask for a little here.)

- casual to semi-hardcore, focused enough to play the game well

- strong community, helpful members (I am willing to help anyone in guild given I am available)

- PvX, also runs dungeons and participates in PvP/WvW often. looks to help improve skill of members, which includes con-crits

- voice communication is not necessary, but a plus

Generally just a good environment to enjoy the game. It’s okay if the guild doesn’t have loads of perks unlocked.

I’ve got about 5 years of casual MMO experience (mostly with WoW), and I am a PC gamer. Also looking to keep growing as a player and in skill. My main is currently a lvl 67 sylvari curse/spite necro. I may respec. Most of my experience with the game is with the necromancer profession. My crafting disciplines are tailoring and artificing.
