Good day all. I am returning to the game after several years’ absence and have completely forgotten 90% of the game. To help me re-learn the game and because I’m an alt-a-holic, I’m looking to start a new character. To that end, I’m soliciting advice from you guys.
Some caveats – I’m going to be playing very slow and casually. I’ve NO Interest in end-game content, pvp ladders, or gear grinds for the most epic bestest shiny number 347. I already have a Warrior, Thief, Guardian, and Elementalist character which I will return to when I’ve re-learned the game, so please suggest a profession other than these.
Things I’m looking for in the profession:
- Good solo pve play
- Easy to learn. I know that some professions are more difficult to lean than others, and I’d rather my energy be spent re-learning the game itself than the intricate dance of mechanics that some can require.
- Not pet focused. Though I LOVE LOVE LOVE my hunter from WoW, if I’m looking to play a pet class, I’ll probably just jump on him. I know that some professions have pets included, which is okay, but I’d rather not have to worry about them if possible. Plus, pet AI can frequently get me into a lot of trouble in games. Just saying.
- Sustainable. By this I mean that there is not a load of down-time between fights, be it for resources or for health reasons. Some of the most fun I had back in my WoW days was playing my affliction warlock or shadow priest and letting my damage also heal me in a never-ending series of combats.
- Simply fun. I like to have fun, to do the crazy things, to just be silly. Tell me what profession you think is just the most fun to play, and tell me why.
Thanks in advance for any and all advice y’all have to offer.
