I only ever log in through the launcher; this forum post is the only time I’ve done otherwise. Also the text keep happening while I’m asleep, thus waking me up to the ArenaNet Code text. Sometimes it’s at weird times like 4am.
Could you be more specific on my computer/network being compromised?
This issue has been going for almost a week now – every day I wake up in the morning to a text message giving me an ArenaNet code for logging in… of course, it’s never really me logging in, but a hacker (or more likely, its bot) guessing my password, and never making it into my account thanks to the SMS ArenaNet Code being sent to me, and not him. Basically it’s been the only thing saving my account each time (so thanks for that extra security!).
But here’s my biggest issue – whenever I get these text messages, it’s obvious that someone now knows my password, and is using it to try to enter my account. So I change my password whenever I see this message! But I’ve been getting these texts almost every day for a week! And I’ve been changing my password every time!
I’ve had these attempted hacks on the 25th, 26th, 28th and finally today on the 29th. I never get the ArenaNet code text more than once each day. Every time I change my password, I wake up the next morning to find our that someone out there has cracked it, and I need to change it.
I’m no longer even using passwords I would conventionally use, inventing strange new ones just for this game, and they still crack it by the next morning! I’m at my wit’s end at this point! Who’s targeting me, and how do I make it stop!? I can’t just keep making new passwords every day forever!
Okay, update on the whole flashing rainbow fire glitch… it seems to have been resolved, since the aforementioned Windows 10 update had reset my Nvidia graphics card to its default settings! I tweaked them to better suit my GW2, and it’s been good so far! Just putting it down here in case anyone has a similar issue.
Hi, I’m ninety percent certain that a Windows update is to blame for this, but bare with me…
I recently bought the Lunatic Guard Outfit when it was on sale, and have had much fun dyeing the flames on it. However, since the Windows 10 update (that took quite a long time to complete) now whenever I see the fire on that outfit (on myself AND other players) it seems to flash many other colors. (I’d send a screenshot, but you’d only see one color at a time, so that’s a bit useless!)
There’s also been a few minor issues like a glitchier loading screen, but that’s ultimately not a problem, as it’s just the screen flickering on and off a couple times (that also happens with startup). Anyone else having these issues?
I’ve been running the game in Windows 7 compatibility mode until this odd glitch happened, changing it around didn’t really do anything. :/
