Can this become the official ’Bring Cantha Back ’ petition, although that is probably against the forum T&Cs. I know that the Devs probably have lots of places they plan on taking us in the story, but you know, maybe a few years down the line… fingers crossed!

Looking for "solo" players for dungeon

It is nice to see this kind of player, willing to help, have fun and someone who knows what it is like to enjoy playing an MMO is a solo way. I’ve just completed this dungeon with some good friends, and even then, there are issues! dungeons tend to make people slightly crazy!

Sory arcs should be soloable! ;-)

Cantha was by far my favourite area of GW. I am devistated to here that we won’t be able to return.

A Casual Player's Feedback

I really don’t like to post in forums. I read them, and I get annoyed at the negative posts people write. This game is great, however, I too feel I have to post something negative and I don’t quite like that.

So, why do I feel this way? Well, there are a number of reasons, and this post is going to be a moan, and yes, I am expecting lots of sarcastic replies.

First things first…. Dye. Yes, in my happy amateur little fun world of playing MMOs I like my nice surprise loot drops, and as I have made 10 characters, and rerolled at least 3 of them, therefore not yet reached level 80, for me, the cool loot drops are the dyes. I love them, I even play a game with my brother of ‘guess what colour it will be’ and believe me, in my guild of two, this is quite good fun (yes, I know it is a bit sad to be in a guild of two, but that is how I hang). I have not had a dye drop in the last two weeks. I used to get at least one a play session, sometimes if I was very lucky up to three, but in the last two weeks…. none. And that makes me sad.

Next up, I have a little gripe about storage. I have maxed out my storage, and yet, by trying to level my cook and see all the nice things I can make, I have no slots left. I was really hoping that with the latest patch that my ‘hidden’ ingredients would finally get a storage slot of their own, but no. No more bag space, no more bank space, no more cooking for me. Yes, this too makes me sad.

Next I want to say something nice. The halloween event was great. In GW1 I really enjoyed the events, they were fun. And so too was the halloween event, yes they were a few glitches, but the content was fantastic. well done guys on doing a really great and fun job, I even loved the mad kings tower, and no, I never managed to complete it, I am, afterall an amateur MMO player.

Now continuing with events. The current events, in theory should have been great. I know that the last thing you want is for things not to work. I know that you are working crazily busy trying to fix things and two days in a row I have not managed to partake in any of the events, even though I have been online, and in the right place at the right time. That is such a shame. I am sad I have been unable to take part in these events, but why are we having these events now? Is there a need? Do we really need more content so early in the games history? I really don’t think so.

So, I guess that this is where I will get the most abuse from the forum and game elitists. I am a casual player, and I understand that there are many players who plow through a games content at crazy rate, there are people weilding legendary weapons in just over a month since the games launch and there are so many people saying: there is no end game content. Please Arenanet whilst you try to cater for this type of player don’t alienate us casual players. those of us who love to explore, who take a year to understand the game mechanics, who really haven’t got a clue what a trait does and want to slowly partake in a story driven entertainment experience. I was fairly bamboozled in weapon and armour atributes prior to the new content, now I am quite quite lost. I know it must be hard and that you are trying to cater for all your players, you have an amazing game and I know it will continue to be amazing, but I can be patient. I can be patient for content. I was patient for the launch of GW2 and I want to be able to enjoy GW2 for a long long time into the future. Please don’t forget us casual players who like to have fun, we may not be able to kill a mob in seconds flat, we may die thousands of times by doing something stupid. but it is fun to do that… sometimes.

Now, and this is the final moan…. thieves…. I love my thief. I am not very good at playing her, but I love her all the same. I loved dancing daggers too, because when I took part in events, I knew that at least I would be able to get some loot drops by using this skill. Now that it has been reduced by 50% I am getting virtually nothing drop wise and as you have probably guessed, this makes me sad.

There we go, moan over. I am sorry that I felt I had to write it, I never thought I would. Keep up the great work, be confident that your content is enough and please bring back dye ;-)

Cannot progress through my story quests.

I have also found the Personal Story Quests to be a real challenge.
I spent two days LFG to simply try to progress this interesting story,
I don’t think I have left one instance with my clothes remaining on my
body and they are just sooo frustrating. They have become ‘almost’ a
game ruining experience as I now no longer care what is happening in
the world of GW2 as I really cant face another horrible gaming experience
that offers no personal reward except frustration and disapointment.

I would have thought that of all the elements of the game, the personal
story would have been the most enjoyable as it should be able to be
completed solo (after all, t is MY story), without losing all your hard earned
silver paying for
repairs and of course, its main purpose (or so I would have thought) allowing
the player to follow the through line story of world events. However, I now
really have no idea what is happening and what the story is about.

I do like a challenge and I do like to have to work at something in order to
feel that satisfying sense of acheivement, however It would be nice to at
least stand a bit of a chance against mobs without fighting naked all the time.
