Dragon Ball auto-balance [Merged]

Hello,

I noticed, that players in the Dragon Ball arena, as well as in the Snowball Mayhem arena get no win credit when volunteering. This is really annyoing because either you volunteer and most likely lose the game, or you hope not to get forced swapped to the other team. In 99,99% of all games the team with less players will lose. That’s why noone wants to volunteer.

Either I get sent back to DR or I get the pop-up message that “the world you am attempting to join is full.”
I didn’t find a work around, yet.

Hello ANet,

the last story instance in HoT is full of bugs and cannot be completed by me.

1. Updrafts only launch you into the air with a ~25% probability.
2. The updraft doesnot keep you in the air.
3. Parts of the arena suddenly disappear and then a rift spawns in that area, which you can’t access (although Braham can walk up to it).
4. During some of my attempts Braham just kneels before the rift and stays there for the rest of the fight.

Please fix those bugs soon.

Kind regards
Moka

Edit: The search function in this forum does not work either.

Hello ANet,

today I played a few pvp matches trying to complete the daily achievements, but even though I capped points and won those matches I didn’t get anything. No win credit, no rank points, no daily rewards.
This happened to me yesterday, as well.

I hope you find a fix for this soon.

Kind regards

Considering the QQ at the “lack of pve build diversity” ( or something to that effect) I doubt there will be many players supporting further lockdown of what builds can be used.

Nice attempt to force people out of running meta builds though.

its not really about builds at all, its basically about making a challenging encounters, and variation. That type of mode would be really limited anyhow, it wouldnt shift the meta at all since gear wouldnt matter there.

if they did add something like that, it would most likely be like SPVP which has much fewer build options

So you want to restrict the player to make content more challenging?
That won’t change anything. It only leads to frustrated players.
What really should be improved are the AI, the monster mechanics and the dungeon/fractal rewards.

Thanks.
At least ANet is aware of the issue.

You are right, looks like the same person.
So there already is a thread on this topic, but I can’t find it by using the search function (actually I can’t find anything by using that. Always says “No Results. Try a different search term.”). Can you give me the link to that thread please?

btw.. Why’s that person still wearing the armor, if he/she wanted to stop wearing it?

They are almost 5 silver per item. Sell them
I’d keep only those you really need, like berserker’, assassin’s for most contents (and soldier’s and maybe rabid for specific niche content like wurm etc.)

Originally the game was also supposed to work on a “soft trinity” consisting of Damage / Control / Support. however due to a wide range of dev shortcomings this simply isnt the case. The meta is not the “soft trinity” but zerker.

Why’s zerker opposing support and control? Zerker is just a stat type.
What you are complaining about is rather that all three (damage, control and support) can be covered by one character so you don’t need several distinct builds.

That’s nice theory, as far as it goes. It’s speculative though, there’s a number of things that are more easily argued to be specifically bad for the playstyle I’m talking about though.
Which playstyle are you talking about then? I’m really interested in that.

You have to be VERY on point to consistently deliver the damage, the tools you use in dungeon content simply aren’t reliable anymore. 1. Why aren’t they reliable? (They still are). 2) You deal more damage with zerker. Therefor you are quicker and less foes are left who can damage you. Even mistakes rarely lead to one’s death.

At the very least it’s approaching the original goal. The difference is that we can’t mitigate the risk into meaninglessness, it would be too slow and inefficient to set up the situations. Just use blinds, CCs, immobilising-skills etc. => mitigated risk into meaninglessness. Simple as that. Sad thing is that many players just hit 1 and expect the foe to be scared to death.

And you’re assuming eventual perfect play. Some of the scenarios get extremely hard.
Actually they’re not and he’s assuming decent play, not perfect. There’s still a lot of room for mistakes etc, while still being able to get things done faster than with condis

Melee zerk is not optimal for the harder Silverwastes content, just like carrion isn’t optimal for 5man dungeon content.

The ONLY foe which can be killed in LESS time than with zerker gear is the HUSK. Believe it or not.

It actually is. But the content is new enough that people haven’t mastered all the mobs’ and bosses’ moves so they die. The only possible exception is the husk boss, where if you were soloing him you’d want Sinister. But the best DPS you’re going to do is with melee berserker, and so long as you don’t die thats what you should be doing. If you aren’t capable of not dying because you aren’t skilled enough thats a personal issue and has nothing to do with what’s optimal and what isnt.

I did every dungeon. I have my dungeon master, and I’m lv 18 fractal with 25 AR and seen every fractal and did them. I do open world more as I found a better way to make gold than run the same dungeon over and over doing the boring meta way of play. I only go back to a dungeon nowadays to get tokens for a skin I don’t have and i suffer doing it with you meta lovers.
Do you want a cookie for that? It’s not about what you’ve seen. Seeing things don’t make you a good player. And even then it has nothing to do with the discussion here. Keep the bragging to yourself.

Even then, I can just pvp now that I have every reward track open.

I don’t grind for gold in dungeons. I do them for a challenge. Standing in one spot even in fractals and killing everything AI exploited, and not doing the mechanics how they were intended, is boring and lazy and non-challenging.
Google the definition of exploit. Then it’s more than just “standing in one spot”. Most times it’s even faster to kill enemies in the open. Btw. ANet said that stacking and using the terrain etc. are no exploits. That means that they wanted players to do that. Following that one is “doing the mechanics how they were intended”. Please take you time and either watch the game and how it works more closely or read through this thread were a lot of actually good players elaborated on this topic.

I rather have a dungeon with 5 man puzzles, traps (guild puzzle style?), and doors— that seal themselves off Zelda-style until you kill every foe with good rewards and money— right now to have at least a semblance of a challenge. I did make this suggestion in the now dead dungeon forums and not one positive reply.

Goes to show who is not open to change and its not me.
What about If someone wants dungeons to be like this. It’s not about what you want, but what the majority (and the devs ofc) want.

You came at this from a OMG DEFEND ZERK position not a ’response position still;

1) Enjoy that tetragrypth that blindsided you with a chain knockdown charge and killed you in 2 bounces. Fragile melee is fragile and in melee, there are things in SW that make that tough.

2) You don’t have that many dodges. You can kill small groups and skulk around the edges, but zerk melee tends to end up just another body when the kitten gets real. Like I said, it’s still great for the escorts.

3) But everything dies from conditions, and you’re most likely not having your conditions being overwritten by other players. You don’t seem to be entirely clear on how the problems with conditions work.

4) Well sure, if you have mass numbers to cover all approaches and at the same time don’t overscale the event.

~~~
Like I said, it’s fine in escorts (depending on the spread of opponents) but breaks down in fort actions, there’s too much chaos to predictably mitigate.
Some versions are also problematic in some of the bosses
No, I don’t need to DEFEND ZERK. OMG! I just wanted to point out, that what you are trying to say is just not true.
1) A tip: immobilising and CCing helps. They are no kind of evil black magic.
2) See 1).
3) What a general statement. Everything dies from direct damage, too…..
4) You need about 5 people per fort. That’s it.
I just felt the need to say this… zerker warrior is kitten in the Silverwastes, conditions are better, so this is possitive development (good luck taking down those slingers by yourself with a zerkerwarrior with a GS)
Done without any problem. Anything else?
terrible (epseically thieves and warriors) in silverwastes, except for certain paths for escorting donkeys.
So I’m a terrible player if I can take down a husk in a few seconds with my zerker thief? And they are the only foes which take a little bit longer to kill in zerker gear. All other foes die just as fast as non-silverwastes foes.
Ranged zerker (staff ele and ranger) is quite good. You don’t take the beating from the thrashers and the tetragryphs.
Have you ever tried to use the dodge-function? Or CC skills? Or immobilising skills?
power/condition (especially necro and engineer) are excellent. Lots of splash and conditions eat the normally tough enemies.
Only husks die faster with conditions.
Guard/Ele support is about as good as it always is, shout guardians are one of the things that can save a fort that’s being overrun.
Dead foes can’t overrun a fort
Comments in the quote. The assumptions you make aren’t totally wrong, but they aren’t true either.
If you don’t fit the criteria of the LFG note, don’t join the group. If you join a group that doesn’t have strict criteria in the LFG note, don’t go in there and expect anything.
Exactly. If I’m asking for a level 80 zerker ele and a level 42 necromancer joins my group and is raging because I kicked him after he refused to swap to his ele, I don’t feel pity for this guy.
Let’s say there are some fields that kids like to play on, and Marty wants to play Soccer (football for those of you outside the US). The sign outside the fields says that you can play whatever you want, and so Marty goes over to the kids playing baseball and says that they should all play soccer. The kids tell him that they don’t want to play soccer, they want to play baseball. There are some kids a few fields over playing soccer, but instead of going and playing with them, or finding some other kids to play soccer with, he keeps arguing with the kids who want to play baseball. “The sign says I can play what I want, and I want to play soccer!” He tells the other children, and so the other children ignore him and go back to their game of baseball. Marty tries to play soccer on the same field as the children playing baseball and runs into another child. The children kick him off of the field they’re playing on, and go back to their game. Instead of going and playing soccer with the children who are still playing soccer, he goes to the parents, and tells them how the other children are bullying him and excluding him. The parents scold their children for excluding poor Marty. Marty still isn’t satisfied, and demands that the parents make their children play soccer with him. What do you think the parents are going to do?
I couldnot have said it any better!
If you are doing a level 50 dungeon, expect that level 50 players will want to run the dungeon.
Quit being an elitist and show players how to run a dungeon with the profession they brought in.
A little kindness goes a long way.
So if I’m running a Level 50 dungeon path and I’m specifically asking for e.g. level 80 eles, I’m should accept a level 56 warrior who didn’t even bothered to read the lfg?
I mean, if a person ignores the simple requirements I set for people I want in my group, he’s not likely to read the party chat and any tips etc., either, is he?
btw.. where did Artemis say that he’s not willing to teach players?
