So, just a thought here. Would be nice to implement, but I understand that it could be problematic for the players with higher rank. I just don’t know the raw numbers.
Base suggestion: pvp brackets for each group of 5 levels meaning that in tpvp only lvl1-5 will fight other lvl 1-5’s. lvl 6-10’s fight each other. lvl 11-15’s. and so on. this being for tpvp solo queue and team.
Now with that change I also suggest making pvp region based instead of just server based to accommodate the previous.
(guild hall would be nice just saying)
Suggestions for Guild Wars 2 content simplified:
1. Unlockable Guild Hall
2. Guild Cape (not back banner)
3. The guild rank assignment “admin lower ranks” needs to be split into at least, “inviting new players” and “promote, demote, and kick lower ranks”
4. Oceanic servers would be awesome, but it seems that if Anet wanted to support it, it would’ve been released when the game came out.
5. Legendaries to be taken off of the Trading Post. A legendary was an item a player had to actually achieve, even if they bought most of the materials. Now, a legendary isn’t even a symbol of determination or kitten-ery.
6. World Events: Halloween and winter’s day events, because they were so huge, were amazing. The little events such as the southsun and flame and frost events just seem simple and, well… meh. Bigger events less often seems to be the way to go here.
My honest opinion is that I would call “the geek squad” that works at best buy nearest you and tell them your problem because they might know an easy solution OR they would recommend you bring your computer into the store to do a diagnostics on it to see if it really is your power supply not being able to produce what your graphics card needs. I only have a laptop but I went all out on this one and I lag like hell if im not plugged into a power source. so I know where your coming from.
also, explaining how to update your bios is difficult with text. I’m not even sure I could explain it to you over this clear enough so you don’t make a mistake.

I am on a laptop with a wired connection. the delays that we are referring to must not be a problem if your are having if you say its not messing up your attacks.
the delay is a 3-5 second delay on skill activation due to the incompatibility of windows 8. if your not having this issue then I would worry about it.
hey I just saw this thread. before I explain how to update that. go to tech support on forums and search “Black Screen Issue (AMD/ATI)” see if that fixes your issue first.
before you turn to the power supply I have to ask, did you remove the software for the NVidia and then install the latest software for your radeon card? even if you installed for the new card, the old software could be conflicting with the new.
the freezing and the blacking out sounds like you may need a firmware update as well as a bios update. I’m not an “expert” but I would look into these things first.

Having that 3-5 second delay because you wanted a better computer for your gaming experience, but received windows 8? I did. I went through hours of tech support from 2 different companies and nothing that was suggested worked. After messing with settings, I had an idea and reluctantly it worked. Just follow these simple instructions and you can take control of your game again.
First, completely turn off your anti-virus protection. Exit it if you have too.
Second, go to control panel -> windows firewall. Turn off both options of windows firewall. Hit OK and stay in “windows firewall” page.
Third, click on “ADVANCED SETTINGS” on the left side and turn off your domain, public, and private profile. Your firewall should control your public and private profiles so they should be off when you even get there. To turn off domain profile, refer to attachment.
Fourth, run GuildWars2 in compatibility mode under windows 7 and run as administrator.
Last, log in and pwn.
REMINDER while under such settings it is not recommended to browse the internet. After gameplay is over, you should see 2-3 reminders in your action center. (the flag on the right side of your toolbar) Don’t forget to turn it all back on!
Replies on success of removing the lag would be greatly appreciated as I expecting this not to work for select people maybe having a setting deeper in their computers different from other people. Hope this helped!

interesting you should mention that. I have trend micro as well. I had to do everything for it to be near normal again.

For those with windows still watching this thread, have you tried turning off you virus protection completely as well as windows firewall -both private and domain- profiles? I was having the same isseues with key delay due to a new laptop. I recently discovered that turning off all 3 of those does away with the delay for GW2. I’m still experiencing some lag, (one about a quarter of a second) but that’s probably due to the fact that im in the pacific region. I’m pinging my server at about average 195ms. Which is still acceptable for normal gameplay. If someone who lives on preferably the far west coast or far east coast could test this for me and replay back that the issue is solved as well as their ping to their server, I would be greatly appreciative and I will post a main thread on the forums with a fix. reason for far coasts is to test it with someone who isn’t close to the servers. Oh, one more thing. after turning those off, run GW2 in compatibility mode windows 7 and I’m running in admin as well.
