[Suggestion] Key Ring [merged]

I think a Key ring is a GREAT idea.

A few posts above are not on the same page with OP’s original idea.
Keys will still only open the relevant type of chest or box so people would still need to go to different areas in the world to get the keys.

Simple concept, all the keys you currently have are stored together in an account wide key ring and then the key ring can be put in a account wide inventory slot so all your toons can open any chest (provided you have the right key).

How can people say there was empty maps Oo?
I could barely hit foes because of the overflow of players during week end!
I missed an achievement because too much players were doing the event more than once! The one you must talk to Sylvaris…

I agree with your statement about giving solo players more options to get hero points.
In fact, rather than giving more options just rework the requirements for elite specs.

Actually, you can unlock it all by yourself.
All central Tyria Hero challenge can be done solo.
Many HoT Hero challenge can be done solo.
True there are some champs needing a group, but not all Hero challenge are champs!

You’re 100% right. I’ve unlocked one of my elite spec’s by doing 90% solo play.

Am i missing something….did the core GW2 game get deleted when HoT came out???
There is tons of awesome new content which can be enjoyed in the older maps if the new maps are not your thing.

Wat? You want to tell me, that I payd 100$ for core game again? No, I paid for Hot. And I want to see guild halls and scriber, I want my banners back. My guild is very little – there is 2 members. New requirements – 3 ppl.
I wish that these requirements have been removed.

2 members….that’s a couple not a guild (Just kidding)
I would be happy to help you find some nice friendly guilds on your server.

Maguuma (the 4 maps) is not the crux of the expansion, its just one small part of it.
You can still enjoy all the great things you want from HoT without having to get frustrated in Maguuma.

Hmm, this is a tricky topic because many want more difficult content and a challenge, and many really enjoy solo play. In my opinion they should give us more ways to get hero points in pve so that solo players can at least open up the elite specs they paid for. That way players that enjoy group content with difficulty can get them that way, and the solo players that also paid for the expansion have some options too.

I agree with your statement about giving solo players more options to get hero points.

To ask players to complete 100% of the map and then still grind out some more levels or wvw or Maguuma challenges is pretty crazy. I’m really not sure how ANET came to this number of 400 hero points to fully unlock a specialisation.

I’m sure a lot of the hate that’s on this forum is a symptom of the root cause (Elite Specialisations requirements are too high) and this high requirement is now making players who don’t enjoy the new maps and difficulty levels feel “forced” to do it just to get the specialisations they paid for.

Would Like to say thanks.

I have to agree, ANET has done an amazing job!!

I’ve watched every single newsfeed and video during the build up to the launch and I didn’t think I would be too surprised, but kitten was I wrong.

The maps are so well designed and the new mechanics and AI are exactly what the game needed.

My only wish now is that ANET can figure out a way to make gliding possible in the old maps and to also increase enemy AI in the old maps.

I think that empty new maps – this is big proof that HoT has failed. I played all weekend and I’ve never seen so empty maps. And it’s the first weekend of the new expancion! Unbelievably.

Nobody announced that we cannot play like before. Nobody said that HoT is not for us. For what we paid? What we can now do in this game, as a solo players? Almost nothing.
For three years we could play solo – now suddenly cannot. For three years we could create and upgrade our small guilds – now we cannot. For three years we could choose – constantly cooperate with other players or not. Now, someone decided it for us. But we are not foolish children. We are adults and solvent people.

Anet, you should have warned us about the upcoming changes. You had to say – “solo players, you are no longer welcome here”. And then we did not pay to new addon. But we have actually deceived.

As a developers, you should know that hardcore gamers and raiders make tiny percentage of community. All the rest – it’s casual gamers and solo gamers. They are the core of the community. They also make a lot of micro-transactions.

Now look at your empty new maps and think, who filled them before?
You kick larger half of community. Great decision. Congratulations.

Just one question – what for?

I really don’t get comments like this. The Developers have kept us in the loop since day one. There’s been the website, the twitch channel, the Points of Interest episodes, forums and even Guild Chat episodes.

“For three years we could play solo – now suddenly cannot.”.

There is tons of awesome new content which can be enjoyed in the older maps if the new maps are not your thing. If people are only playing the new maps to get the 10 hero points per hero challenge, then ask yourself if you’re up to the challenge to earn 10 hero points at a time, because it shouldn’t be easy to get 10 hero points just like that.

On the topic of small guilds not being able to get Guild Halls, many small guilds, (some even less than 10 members) have unlocked the Guild Hall. My Guild has exactly 10 members and we completed it fairly easily.

To spite all the great new features and content, if you find yourself still not enjoying the game, don’t stress, just find yourself something else to play, after all gaming is about enjoying yourself

Aytheist , Firstly props for “Edmond Dantes”

I understand your point but Guild Wars 2 is 3 years old and people have been dying for something different and to be honest, if ANET didn’t bring something new to the table, the game would die.

I’ve been following all the developer newsfeeds, videos and POI episodes and the developers have been saying for months that the new content will challenge us and it will break the old META style gameplay and require players to explore more build variety.

I’m sorry to hear you feel your hard earned Dollars have been wasted

I think ANET got the difficult just right (for solo and group players).

I play 50% of the time solo and 50% with a few friends.

SOLO:
I will admit, its tough but its fair. The new content keeps the game interesting by making you adapt to new situations. These new situations require you to switch a trait or two, switch gear, switch weapons and understand the enemies mechanics (strengths & weaknesses). Example, the smokescale was really getting the better of me until i realised that if i lure it out of its smoke field its really easy to take down. It took me a few smokescales to learn this but that’s the fun of exploring the new world.
The thought of exploring this new world, not knowing what dangers lie ahead makes it exciting and if i do come into a deadly situation i either run, regroup and figure out how I’m going to beat it, or i fight, die and then learn from the situation and come out better off overall.
I also understand my limitations, i cant expect to always come out on top of every champ I try solo and sometimes going around (or gliding over) the champs is the best option for me. In the end I still achieve what I wanted (heroes points, POI ,etc), I just had to think a little more to get it.

GROUP PLAY:
Not much to say, group events are hard enough and general exploration with 3 or 4 friends makes the new content pretty easy.

If any of you are having trouble soloing the new content, don’t lose heart.
Experiment and try new builds, gear combinations and tactics. Also don’t be ashamed to ask random players for help or advice. I find 95% of the GW2 community is very friendly and open to help.

Best of Luck

Some thoughts and suggestions, let me know what you guys think.

Overall, I think the DD specialization is awesome. It provides nice build variety.

Staff Skills:
Skill 2 – offers nice dsp and weakness application, however it feels very clunky and it seems to lack the quick gap closing function you see on both the dagger and sword skill 2. It would be nice to see the staff skill 2 be used more as a quick gap closer. Perhaps they could even make it a skill that if you land the first hit, it then gives you the option to activate another skill. (very similar to sword 2 and 3 with infiltrators return and larcenous strike)

The rest of the staff skills are perfect in my opinion.

The Traits:
Unhindered Combatant – This feels very slow and clunky, I think its the animation itself that gives it that feel. I would like to see the animation speed up or changed from a running motion to a fast dashing animation like the warriors Bulls Charge or Revenants Staff 5 skill.
Another option is if this dodge skill could actually shadow step the player away in the direction that you dodge, at a range of 300-360.

Bounding Dodger – Cool trait, I just find it a little tricky to actually land the damage of this skill as more often that not you are dodging away from an attack and you put yourself out of range to get any damage out of the skill. I really like that its a leap so it can be used on a smoke field to gain stealth. I just think the damage aspect needs to be reworked. maybe the damage should proc at the dodging start location and not where you finish your dodge.

Physical Skills – I’m not sure why ANET only allows you to use these skills by taking the DD specialization. I think Physical skills should be freely available regardless whether or not you want to trait into DD. It’s almost as if they thought that the traits alone are not good enough to make people what to choose the DD specialisation.

Last comments: I think DD is awesome, it just needs some very minor adjustments and animation changes.
