It is obviously a bug that retal does 33% less dmg only on EB. As soon as it gets fixed it should be less of an issue.

On a personal note though (and alleged opness of retal aside), I’ve run WvW with all kinds of professions. The only ones that are still missing from my character select screen are necro and warrior. And I never seen retal as something that shuts my profession down in fights of any scale.

Because I do not simply expect that skills which are great in PvE or on a mob of training dummies would be as effective (if at all) against groups of intelligent opponents. There’s a wide variety of builds/stat-builds you can choose from and it’s not like particular skill is THE only way your class could/should/must rule the world.

P.S. I’ve seen so many times people dying on last boss on Urban Battlegrounds Fractal simply because they do not realize that he has 100% retal uptime and while they do not have appropriate build to sustain their HP pool against it, they mindlessly continue to hit him with everything they’ve got even when they are hovering on 10% hp and have their healing skills on cd.

I didn’t mean my post to sound like l2p one, but I guess is does anyway.

I’m going to have to agree… and the whole mindset of nerfing things you don’t know how to play against needs to stop (confusion only did damage when you used abilities and when those players who died after spamming 1 died, they were all up in arms). I would love to see anet buffing different aspects of each class and instead make other builds viable.

not very surprised by the change.. as for the reset i hope every time you tinker with the wvw talents you give us the reset … i still wish for some trebuchet talents but i don’t like the points sitting around and whistle some songs..

I’d like to see Revive bonus added to the Abilities list.

Revive fallen ally 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5% faster

If you play solitaire with only one suit, your game is going to end faster and feel lacking.

Is there any chance for World XP to become account bound in the future? Since the ranks require a significant amount of effort to get any benefit from them, it’s ill advised to use more than one (or two) characters in WvW. Since different professions might want to aim for different bonuses first, each character could have available points to use according to the account rank.

They had mentioned this and said that they had meant to keep it character based instead of account based so that we could have different builds.

Supply is that expensive rightly so because new players with the ability to carry more supply can be destructive and also 40 organized players with 20 supply is going to be pretty ridiculous as is.

WvW Abilities: I am confused!

First off I just want to say that I am glad that these new abilities have been implemented, but I am a little confused regarding the lack of detail in their descriptions. Sorry if some of these questions seem like they could be answered with simple common sense, but you never know, right?

“Guard Killer” and “Defense Against Guards”

Does “Guard” include everything from Legendary Castle Lords, Legendary Defenders, Champion Keep Lords, Champion Tower Lords all the way down to wizards, scouts, rogues, lone sentry, etc.? You would hope right? Does it not include Dolyaks or Siegerazor?

“Mercenary’s Bane”

Does this only apply to Enemy Hyleks, Ogres, Quaggan, Dredge (is that all of the potential friendlies? I might have left one out) Does it apply to Krait? Is Siegerazor and his Dolyak a Guard/Mercenary/Neither?

“Siege Bunker” and “Siege Might”

Does this include ALL siege weapons? Golem, Arrow Cart, Ballista, Catapult, Flame Ram, Trebuchet and their superior counterparts? Does it include Defensive siege such as Burning oil, Cannon and Mortar? If it applies to ALL siege why have a different ability for Cannon and Ballista? WHAT DOES SIEGE REALLY MEAN ANET???

“Supply Capacity”

At max ability, does this mean that if I have 0 supply and I take some from a camp with 100 supply, I get an extra 5 supply “for free”, leaving the camp with 90? Or does this mean that if I have 0 supply and I take some from a camp with 100 supply the camp now has 85 supply? If the Camp is claimed for +5 supply already, do I get 20 supply? Will starting a breakout event with Siegerazor give me 15 supply?

“Cannon Mastery”

This one is pretty straight forward, because you have nice descriptions on the different levels of the ability when you mouse over them. My question is No Mortar or Oil boosts? Why were these left off? And, relating to my Siege Bunker and Siege Might question, Does Cannon Mastery work in conjunction with those two abilities???

“Ballista Mastery”

Same question as Cannon Mastery. This ability by itself is straightforward, but does it work in conjunction with Siege Bunker and Siege Might??? Why not “Arrow Cart Mastery”? Why was Cannon and Ballista singled out for their own abilities?

Like I said, some of these questions are kind of dumb, but I think that A LOT of them aren’t dumb at all and NEED to be clarified by a Dev. I can almost already see them overhauling this system to address some of the things that I brought up. At the very least Anet needs to clarify some of these things in the descriptions. Feel free to post your opinions and guesses and get the discussion rolling. But my main goal of writing this is to get Anet to respond with real clarification.
