Rangers!

Favorable Winds, the unofficially unofficial ranger guild has been founded. Our goal here is to build a large, cross-server forum for theorycrafting, kittening, moaning, complaining, and chatting with like minded individuals about our favorite class.

This guild will not be limited to any one game type. PvE, WvW, and PvP players are all welcome. Really, anybody that loves playing ranger or just wants to learn how to play ranger is invited. I want this guild to be a great resource for anybody wanting to know about our class. All you’ve gotta do is drop the following information in this thread.

- In game name
- Server
- Preferred game type

I’ll check back periodically and send out invites.

Right now I’ve got four ranks in the guild to help our members identify what each of us do without having to ask or look on the forums:

Beastmaster – Leader status, basically, but I’ll be putting very well respected and trusted members of all playstyles here.

Survivalist – Trusted members who are mostly into PvE content will go here. These will be the go to guys when asking about Ranger PvE.

Skirmisher – Trusted PvP and WvW members will be put here. Need to know about something related to beating up other players? Ask them!

Marksman – New guild members or players new to the Ranger class will go here.

There is absolutely NOT an obligation to rep this guild, although it would be appreciated. I’ve never cared for mandatory repping, so I can’t impose that on others; I only ask that if it’s a guild organized event that you do rep.

Depending on how well received the guild is, I will organize weekly dungeon runs, monthly build contests, and 1v1 Ranger tournaments in a private arena that I’ll fund. I’m sure we can come up with other fun stuff for our members to do too.

I do not currently have a Teamspeak server, but I do use Skype when I need to voice chat. It’s free and easy to use. If we get a ton of members and a lot of demand for a TS, then I’ll consider buying a server.

Just a suggestion: Maybe make it mandatory that only Rangers can rep the guild? That doesn’t seem too unreasonable since it’s a Ranger focused guild. Guildies can of course decide NOT to rep at all, but it would be SO cool to see a guild list of nothing but Rangers.

So many questions! Do you have an Anvil Rock chapter? Do you want one? Can I help start it? I have a PvE sylvari ranger up to about lvl 65 that’s being DYING for some fellow rangers to adventure with!!
