I had nearly 1,000 sword kills before playing a class that can equip swords. I think I found some correlation with necro minions.
I’ve been having a very hard time rationalizing this not already being in the game.
The problem isn’t selfish players, so much as awkward loot distribution.
It’s just as selfish to want farmers to give up more gold for less time and effort, as it is for farmers to indirectly deny other people achievements. Or, possibly, more selfish. Fighting Scarlet needs to be more rewarding, perhaps scaling directly with the number of champions killed, prior to her appearance.
The first time I heard “I deserve an award!” was for getting the eat 50 things achievement. It was downright funderful.
In WoW, the solution to pets being mowed down in PvE was talents that drastically reduce the damage they take from AoE attacks.
I haven’t been playing GW2 long, but it seems like that would be (mostly) applicable, here. The pets still couldn’t really tank entire fights if the damage reduction only applied to AoE.
I am far too lazy to read the full topic. I’m not offended at all, but the design does strike me as silly. Less so because of the gold-plate lingerie/robot nipples, and more because of COMBAT HEELS.
I think there were three faces I ended up… not liking, but tolerating, for this reason. I’m sure the faces as are have their fans, but it’d be nice to have a little more variety.
Yeah! So glad I ignored that stupid event.
Pretty much. I can’t say I mind having a little extra gold, but I’m not sure how to feel about being rewarded for not bothering to read up on the event.

Personally I don’t think I’d mind the repair/WP costs too terribly since you can get money however you want outside QP, but the walk back up/wait to get an arena seem ridiculously fun-killing.
Luckily I’m new, not 80, and a Necromancer, so I’m fine giving up on 100%’ing this event.
