I was a bit disappointed once I found out I had to do the raid track to get back my repeatable xp bar as well. I wouldn’t mind getting into raids, it’s just I hate to think how much xp has gone to waste by me not having completed one.
There are sometimes raid groups on the lfg that do say ‘all welcome’ or ‘raid training’ (I noticed more on Sundays), I’ve tried a couple but none of the groups successfully cleared one
But they were at least friendly, so I did learn some of the mechanics etc. I think there are also some guilds out there who specialise in helping people new to raids, I’ll probably just wait until my guild runs a training session.
Like you I’m not actually bothered about the spirit I shards, I just like seeing the xp bar go up and something happen at the end of it, I just don’t like the thought of wasted / meaningless xp while it’s locked.
Yes, exactly this. The amount of xp and spirit shards I would have now….I have just over 1600 spirit shards right now. If I had access to Maguuma, it would easily be over 5k. Sigh….
I must be checking at the wrong times for LFG, usually when I check there is 0 out there and the few people I find that are in a raiding guild try their best not to laugh at my request to join them for 1 raid.
So, approximately 3 weeks ago I realized the reason I wasn’t getting spirit shards on a maxed out Mastery character in Hearts of Maguuma (like I do in Tyria), was because it wasn’t maxed out (and not because as I originally thought, that ArenaNet just decided not to add that functionality to the Hearts of Maguuma zone for some reason). Of course, as I now realize, what I was missing is the raid mastery’s that do literally nothing outside the raids. I’m not a raider, like, at all, so I never bothered to try and find a raid prior in order to unlock useless Mastery’s. One can imagine the level of annoyance I had (have) on realizing this mistake.
None the less, for 3 weeks I’ve been looking to do a single, just one incy little raid that would qualify me to unlock the mastery chain (I have more then enough left over mastery points to unlock them all and have had enough for months and months). And for 3 weeks I have found ziltch. The only people who raid are hardcore raiders, and they have 0 room nor desire for somebody looking to just do one stupid raid one stupid freaken time since ArenaNet forces us Non-Raiders to go this route.
So instead, I beg of you, please remove this ridiculous requirement necessary to level for Spirits shards in the Hearts of Maguuma. It’s not like spirit shards are super duper, gotta have them all important. It’s just something to look forward to and use. Instead the “XP” I get in the various new zones ArenaNet is kind enough to add via LW3 have all gone to waste because they are classified as Maguuma, even though 3 out of the 4 I believe are in Tyria (logic?).
In conclusion…….pretty please?
Yup. With the move towards the a somewhat holy trinity system, having zero health bar info makes it extremely difficult to know whose hurting and who isn’t. On 2k or 4k displays those health bar icons for people in your party are further and further away from the main action (to the point you have to actively look at the direction of the icons and taking your eyes off the action, and thus missing when the boss is throwing out a 1 hit kill or what an enemy player is doing or something of the sort).
Health bars is a bit of an old system though and would feel out of place. Some sort of optional indicator to show when a player is getting low on health would be a very nice feature to have. I’ll take health bars over what we have now though, which is nothing.
All the suggestions make sense to some degree. Will Anet actually change it? Probably not. Anet loves their what should be free but isn’t free micro-transactions
1) Map “resources” (keys) that continue to expand while taking up more and more inventory space/bank space. There is 0, absolutely 0 reason these couldn’t be added to the wallet. This is purely meant to force players into buying more bank space or bag space.
2) Transmutation charges as discussed above, no need to add further points to this system.
3) Hair/cosmetic changes. Can’t count the number of MMO’s that offer this extremely basic service while only requiring in-game money, if even that.
I’m probably forgetting several more, but Anet won’t reduce their micro-transaction load. If anything, they will look to expand how they can reach into players wallets all the more. Though I hold out hope they will surprise me otherwise.
If you go to the location you missed, you should find a mote. It’ll allow you to still do that part of the quest. Don’t panic.
Ah yes, I didn’t even check as I assumed there was nothing that could be done once the NPC was no longer there. Didn’t even see the little guy until you mentioned it. Thank you
Hi all,
So it was my understanding (wrongly until I checked the Wiki a few seconds ago as of this edit) that the Transfer Chaser NPC moved locations every Sunday. I did parts 1, 2, and today I did part 4. I don’t know how I missed the Lornar Pass location, but I guess I did. Is the NPC going to come around again?
Hello,
First off, I like a challenge just like the next person. I also enjoy something that cannot be completed in one day and has to be fought over. I also enjoy encouragement to complete the task through great rewards. That’s what makes a lot of collections in this game unique and fun and addicting to strive for.
Then there is the Treasure Hunter achievement. The huge time sink for this achievement is astronomically unfair. Its almost impossible to achieve for the average player. The reason for this is because of the ultra rare drops of the various exotics required to complete this achievement. Sure, you can buy them off the Trading Post, if you are rich enough to afford the literally 1,000s of gold it requires.
One of the drops requires the Cathedral of Eternal Radiance Meta event. Without going into a huge rant into why the Eternal Radiance Meta needs updating (short version: you shouldn’t punish players for completing objectives/events), this Meta is ultra, ultra, ultra, ULTRA rare due to the nature of how it is designed. This makes the item required for the achievement nearly impossible to achieve through normal farming attempts.
The reward for this achievement is in my opinion average, if not below average when compared to the time sink required for it. The reward itself is fine if the achievement was actually attainable in a reasonable fashion.
Now that I have highlighted some of the wrongs, here are some suggestions I have. The community at large likely has better ideas, but I figured I would at least offer some up since I am the one with the feedback report.
Suggestions:
1a) Change the exotics to either drop more often, or change the achievement to require their blue versions instead of the exotics. The blue versions themselves don’t even drop that often, so this achievement is still a challenge to complete even with that minor tweak.
1b) Change some of the exotic requirements to their blue versions, but keep a couple of exotics for a requirement to complete the achievement. I call this suggestion my “compromise” one, where I would rather have 1a but will take 1b.
2) Remove the Cathedral of Eternal Radiance item requirement completely (long term, update this Meta along with all the other Meta’s that require an event to fail before triggering). You can either add something to replace this item, or just plain remove it entirely.
3) After fixing the achievement, reward anybody who managed to achieve it the hard way with a unique title, Black Lion Chest keys, special daily chest, etc etc. I get that the players who have manged to get this achievement done worked their rear ends off (either by farming or by farming for gold and paying for it that way) and deserve praise for doing so and don’t deserve to be punished by making this achievement easier for current and future players.
4) Make it so other players can farm the treasure chest in another players home instance. I see zero reason why players who manage to complete this achievement can’t share their spoils with their fellow friends and guildies like any other home instance node. This would also encourage cooperative farming so that more then one player can tackle the achievement to finish it faster. Technically you can do this now, but I don’t see anybody talking on the huge farming requirement to help a friend in need when they don’t get any reward themselves (not to mention the 300-400 gold they could get for looting an achievement item and selling it on the Trading Post).
Thank you for taking the time to read this feedback report and suggestion post.
Hi there,
My sister is having the same issue on her computer. Here are a list of things I attempted
1) Repair Client (Possibly unrelated, but she also wasn’t able to do any Heroic Point Events prior to me running the Repair Client shortcut. Now she is able to)
2) Deleted the folder out of temp as suggested on this topic
3) Tried receiving several items and then sending out items as another poster suggested
4) Tried sending to somebody else
5) Updated Network drivers
6) Adjusted Firewall of Virus Protection to ensure maximum availability (shouldn’t matter anyways. She and I running the exact same software on the same network on Windows 10).
7) Deleted a bunch of old mail she had
None of the above fixed the mail issue. Everytime she tries to send something in the mail, the game crashes to the character login screen with an error code. I’ve attached a screenshot of the code.
Probably also unrelated but I know how the QA thing works, every bit of info helps. Anyways, when she created her character a few days ago, I mailed her several (probably between 5-8 mail) of full attachments (Dyes and bags for her new character). I sent so many I was blocked several times by the anti-spam feature.
Character name is Treowan
