The Atlas and News not shown when in Forums

There is an inconsistency in the Guild Wars 2 website.

When on the main website there are links to The Atlas in the site navigation and News in the Community sub-navigation section. However, when you are in the Forums, both the The Atlas and News links are no longer shown.

I have attached an image showing this behavior. This behavior does not depend on the browser used (chrome, firefox, internet explorer, etc) and does not matter if a user is logged in or not.

How to reproduce issue:
As you arrive in the Urban Battlefields Fractal and have been transformed into a charr, you are immediately awarded the Daily Fractal Runner achievement. This is the only fractal #1 this behavior occurs with.

It was always going to be a challenging week for us on Dragonbrand (Green) this week. Often outmanned, mercilessly euthanized when spotted by SoR and FA, and capped off by many of our larger WvW guilds transferring out but we tried as best we could. So, I’d like to dedicate this next song to the brave and durable DB’ers in WvW this week:

Living Story Notification Missing

I have the same issue too. There is no Tequatl status at the top right of the UI but I still get the sound notification when there is a Tequatl status change.

I have completed the “Boss Week” living story in case that is relevant.

API Issue Right Now?

I noticed the event tracking websites that use the API are not working properly. I pulled a simple list of the servers from the API and only got:

Search feature not working

The forum search feature does not work well by any stretch of the imagination.

It does not appear to search the subject title. For example, if I search for Search feature then 0 articles are found even though that is in the title of this article and it is currently the first non-sticky article in this forum.

It does seems to search article content for words but results are sketchy. It does seem to search the most recent article subject for keywords but this is not always the case.

It is very hard to see a pattern in what is going wrong apart from the subject title not being searched for.

The easiest way to see the failing of the forum search is to go to any forum then go to the very first article ever posted there and find some unique keywords it has. Trying to search for these keywords will return 0 results.

The inability for us to be able to search these forums leads to repeated questions and frustration on the user end and, I’m sure, on the developer end. Please, please address this as soon as possible.

Help U.N.I.T. find and destroy the Inquest

Dynamic event: Help U.N.I.T. find and destroy the Inquest

It appears this dynamic event is not quite finishing or resetting. It is stuck on the Clear the Inquest from the lab interior stage but the NPC Wisst [Merchant] has spawned and is usable meaning he was freed from the Inquest Holding Cell. I have spent a good amount of time clearing any Inquest in and around the lab to no effect. The wiki claims the merchant should only remain there for 2 minutes and the event respawns in a further 8 minutes. Neither of these occur as the merchant and golem remain in the lab. I have waited in the lab and back at the dynamic event respawn location at Toxal Bog for over 1 hour.

Other things noticed:

  • Wisst [Merchant] works properly but does not disappear after 2 minutes
  • U.N.I.T. is interactable and has a dialogue window of “Unit-is-engaged-in-combat-operations. Unit-must-not-be-deviated-from-target-objective.”
  • The Inquest Holding Cell cannot be attacked but is interactable with no dialog.
  • An aggressive Inquest Extinguisher spawns every few minutes at the South lab door and is attacked and destroyed by U.N.I.T.
  • Every few minutes a non-aggressive Inquest Sapper runs into the lab through the Eastern door, disappears, reappears withing a few seconds then runs back out the Eastern door.

I have attached a screen capture of the stalled Dynamic Event.

Shaman Reward Pauldrons not shown

You might want to hover your mouse over the chest piece and read the tooltip again. Specifically the second to last line, just above “Soulbound”

Thank you, Kisanth. I had not even noticed that before. In case others are wondering what the Shaman Reward Breastplate tooltip says:

This coat hides shoulder armor.

Well, that solves the mystery and makes me sad at the same time.

Shaman Reward Pauldrons not shown

On my level 80 Charr Thief I have the exotic medium Cathedral of Flame armor set. However, for a long time now, the Shaman Reward Pauldrons are not shown when the corresponding chest piece is equipped. I have attached an image below showing this.

  • The left shows all pieces equipped.
  • The center shows no difference when the pauldrons are unequipped.
  • The right now shows the pauldrons if the chest piece is unequipped.

Is this by design or is there a fix somewhere down the line?
