I understand that you want people to look at the new content, and that maybe someone remarked that leaving the old one running would get confusing, but shortening deadlines is nearly never a good idea. If there was a blocking issue that made it so the new patch could not be there as long as the bonfires were up, I think it would have been better to delay the patch.
I’m sure I am not the only one who managed to be away from the computer for two days and totally missed out. I’d suggest in future to always leave things running for a week. Life happens, and a few days without play time can easily happen.
Considering how Guild Wars 2 is an excellent game to engage casually in (one of the reasons I keep playing) I find it even more striking. I understand that you will probably not put the bonfires back in, and the achievement will remain forever unattainable, but I just wanted to share share my thoughts on the matter anyway. In the end it is your game to do with as you like, but I’d be lying if I didn’t admit to being a bit sad about all this.
I have a two questions regarding the achievements of SAB, and I wanted to ask them directly after search didn’t give me any conclusive answers:
1) Has anyone completed one of the ‘collect all baubles in a zone’ achievements while leaving the instance or using a continue coin? I’m struggling with the third zone, have used guides, even went around myself and picked up those again most mentioned as easy to miss, and still nothing. But I have in the course of doing that left the instance, and even logged from the game. So I wonder if that is what messed it up for me.
2) Will the achievements remain in the game for the future instalments of SAB? Or do these turn into something no longer able to get at the end of the month? I’m finding myself short on time at the end of the month and am wondering if I should push for achievement completion now, or if I can wait it out.
