I hope not, i would be happy if they remove all of it.
I did only just log in for 5 mins to try out what all the fuss was about to be honest, but i stick by my words
Most ‘hackers’ are good players beating bad ones.
Despite the huge amount of kitten people today, i love the april fools thing. I think it’s good light hearted fun, sure it will annoy people but i would love to see an emote to use throughout the year /plane for example.
Keep it up Anet!
The 1055T uses DDR3 so that isn’t the issue.
AMD does not have an performance upgrade path that would benefit this game. The Bulldozer architecture was designed to handle lots of intensive threads but does poorly when only a few intensive threads are used.
You are likely going to have to upgrade your MB because it’s likely you have an AM3 socket Vs the AM3+ that the current AMD FX CPUs use (and good luck finding inexpensive AM3 CPUs other than used). And currently even the Intel i5-4460 (cheapest i5-4xxx at NewEgg) is 75% faster than your 1055T and 30% faster than the FX-8350, for this game. As others have said, the GPU isn’t as important as CPU when it comes to binding the frame rate.
That said the HD 6670 is pretty low end nowadays. So an upgrade is also in order but at that point we are talking about leaving you the case, drives and PSU (which could be an issue as the HD 6670 is pretty low power while newer video cards can use quite a bit more).
So what’s your budget.
My board is a GA-970A-DS3, i think that’s AM3+
My PSU is 520w so it might handle a more power hungry card.
Honestly at the moment it’s what ever i can hide from the mrs, so its easier to keep things as low as possible to prevent lonely nights on the couch.
- What’s your FPS like?
- Are all of your drivers up to date?
- You could tweak some settings. Turning off shadows and utilizing the frame limiter are a good place to start.
- Get a program to monitor your CPU and GPU loads to see where the suspected bottleneck is.
I’ve tried everything from low to ultra high and apart from a little fps variable, the game runs okay.
I keep getting very odd performance across all games, not just guild wars. I can run at a comfortable fps, maybe 40-50 in guild wars (depending on multiple factors), then at complete random it will drop to 1-5 fps and stay like it for x amount of time, then clear up again.
I cant replicate it despite trying, ive done a test by having vlc playing a HD movie, photoshop with a large open file, firefox with 15 tabs, 10 random folders and skype open. Then i tried running the game. Then at a random interval i get the symptom above. I then tried with absolutely nothing running, run guild wars, same thing.
I have a feeling my CPU is the problem. I did monitor the cpu during this time, it didnt ever max out but did spike at the time of the performance drop, when it clear the cpu also drops back down.
From the hardware i listed, is any of them ‘terrible’ to todays standard? i realise i won’t be winning any award for best gaming rig but that isn’t my goal, i just want it to run smooth enough to enjoy the game.
I prefer AMD personally, I think my DDR3 memory is ok, im not sure what the bottleneck is, the CPU is much older than the GFX card however looking up he specs show both as capable so thats why im not sure what to replace, i cant find the spare cash to upgrade both right now.
Hi my current system is:
AMD Phenom x6 1055t processor
20gb RAM
AMD RADEON HD6670
What is the best thing to upgrade to get better performance when gaming? Also i’m looking for the most affordable upgrade with the best performance jump. Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks
You need to decide what you enjoy most, pve dungeons, wvw, pvp. Check out metabattle for a build then tweak it to your liking.
From what i have found recently, if you want to dungeon you will want a high damage ‘zerker’ build, if you prefer a support role i think possibly backline wvw might be better.
You will get better results on the guardian forum for builds and class specific advice.
I’m using berserker gear with 6/6/2/0/0. However the damage is great but i spend more time downed than playing, I know guild wars doesn’t have a agro system like some mmo’s however it seems that my high crit rate makes mobs home in on me so i need to increase survival a little without too much of a dps loss so i don’t get downed to easy in pve.
Can anyone advise me on what i can change up give me a little help in staying alaive whilst keeping as much dps as possible.
Thanks

vista
(noun)
noun: vista; plural noun: vistas
a pleasing view.
“sweeping lawns and landscaped vistas”
So does it not make sense that a pleasant view would be likely found in high up or difficult to reach places?
About 7 levels…
I played a lock in wow as my main, im now playing a Mesmer and it is a fantastic class, very fun and high damage but nothing at all like a warlock, more shaman if anything i would say. Worth checking out though as im having great fun leveling it up
I didn’t know the collectable tab was shared. That’s a good idea. What about money, how can i transfer it from my old character to my new? and thanks for the replies
Is it possible to send crafting materials from one of my characters to another? I have a load of materials in my collectable tab on a higher level toon, but i want to send them to my new character.
Hi.
I’m a friendly experienced player with most of my time spent playing WoW, AoC, Aion and Rift. I’m a good team player and prefer supportive roles. In previous games i was mainly a healer and occasionally a tank, but since the role types dont exist here that may not be relevant
I have yet to experience any dungeon in GW2 which are usually my favorite things in an MMO, i also enjoy WvW. I really want to run the GW2 dungeons though.
I would prefer maybe a 21 or 25+ year requirement but that’s not essential, as long as the guild is friendly, supportive and enjoys dungeons and WvW.
My main is a Ranger, on server Desolation, at time of posting im level 70 but will soon be 80.
Thanks for any replies.
Latency / Framerate in WvW or Group events
in Account & Technical Support

Im having a problem mainly with wvw or large events. The game works fine, i play through questing zones perfectly fine on high settings but during wvw as soon as i try to get close to a large group or fight i can watch the fight perfectly fine, (everything is smooth) but no action i takes seems to register, for example if i try to switch weapons or shoot im looking at at least a 10 second wait. If i try to move im bounced around all over, cant use portal etc…
If i am able to react (which rarely i can) then my framerate will drop to around 3fps which renders it unplayable. I really enjoy wvw or group events and this problem never used to exist when i first started playing, im returning from a break so its something patched that has changed it. My hardware hasn’t changed.
Any advise is much appreciated
