You’re going to get a lot of “whatever looks good to you” comments here. But in my opinion go for Bolt, that way you can main hand it as well in the future if you wanted a change of look.

Just tried to buy influence from the guild promoter in Lions Ach and got nothing back. So I did it a second time and still got nothing.

Not sure if it’s just me or everyone else as well.

Edit: My cousin thought more info should be provided. The problem he’s having is that his roommate scammed some guy, but his account was banned for it and not his roommates.

Edit2: Support has now closed his ticket with no responses. He feels if they were to review his account and look into the mail history and his inventory logs that his account would be cleared.

Gaile could you please take a closer look into my cousins ban. He submitted another ticket this time even giving them his roommates email and display name, but they just close his tickets every time.

Please check the mail or inventory logs of the two accounts, there has to be some kind of error here.

My cousins account has been banned for scamming someone, though it was his roommate whose account should have been banned.

Following the suggestion of Gaile Gray here is a message from my cousin (Aycee.1670):

So the night I was banned I submitted a ticket trying to figure out what happened, after 2 responses they told me “This decision has been thoroughly reviewed by our team, and we maintain absolute confidence in our conclusion. The account will remain permanently closed and is not eligible for reactivation under any circumstances.”

The problem is that my roommate was the one who scammed a person, but my account was banned for it and his is still completely active. Now I know that support could have mixed up the accounts because we share the same IP, but I’m posting this because I feel as if they’re just giving me automated responses. The reason I feel that is because I was banned for the jumping puzzle bug that banned you for teleporting, and support gave me the same answers saying that they had evidence I was hacking.

This morning I received a response from Support saying “As previously mentioned, the decision to terminate the account is final. The account will remain permanently closed and is not eligible for reactivation under any circumstances. At this time I must inform you that any further inquiries regarding this account may be closed without a response.”

After receiving this I responded by telling them everything that happened to the best of my knowledge, but they have stopped responding and are just moving my ticket status to Closed.

I know there is a way to check the logs of an account, so please take a closer look into my account. I’m sure there would be evidence that I have never received a Dawn in the mail or had one in my inventory.

When you say you have email authorization set up – you don’t have it set to remember your home IP address?

Actually I do, but again neither my cousin or friend knows my password. To the best of my knowledge.

You can’t trust anyone with your account info. It doesn’t matter if it’s someone you have known for 30 years. People give away other people’s account info intentionally and unintentionally. If you want to make sure your own account info is secure, you need to use a strong password that you haven’t used anywhere else and never, under any circumstances, give away your account info or let someone use your account..

I wasn’t questioning your relationship with your cousin. My point was when share a computer and start accessing each others accounts it could cause problems. This may not be the issue in your case but IMO it still isn’t a good idea.

Haha I know I just typed that stuff out because he was reading and thought it would bring some laughs but he just gave me “the something is wrong with you” look.

But yeah I can see your point, honestly though I trust both of them very much. Don’t know if I’d let them onto my account, but I trust that neither of them would purposefully try to get into it without me knowing.

Are you sure one of the other 2 people who use your computer didn’t access your account to do something nefarious? This whole triangle between 3 people using the same computer and posting here from other people’s account seems suspect.

No, that I’m sure of. I have email authorization for my account and if they got the password for that I have mobile authorization for my email.

And I’m posting here on my cousins account (my blood cousin, born like 3 months apart, been together for most of our lives, one of the few people I’d share my beer with, I’d drive 100 miles to pick him up at 4am if he needed me too, I’d wipe for him after using the bathroom if both his arms are broken) because my account has been banned, and for some reason it bans you from the forums as well make it impossible to post from my own account. So if that’s weird to you, then just find another post to help someone. I’m just waiting for a staff member.

I see three options :

As already mentioned, your friend is/was lying.

Your friend was screwing up his password somehow.

He did get hacked.

1. I don’t think he was lying about the Dawn, as I did see someone asking for the trade earlier in the day.

2. It’s a possibility that he was mistyping his password on purpose just to make it incorrect while I was watching, but then he let me watch the whole recovery process and then him logging into the game and checking his email.

3. I don’t think he got hacked, because it would be too much of a coincidence for the sword be removed from his inventory and then my account being banned in the same period of time.

But again, this post is not centered on my friend and his issues. He can deal with those himself. It’s about my account being mistakenly banned.

Now I’ve talked to my cousin (the owner of this account) and my room mate, both of whom share the same computer as me. Apparently my room mate tricked someone in my guild into sending him a Dawn. The person who sent it to him must have reported him because he logged on later and it was gone, his PASSWORD was also changed (something that I find completely wrong, but that’s another story).

I may be a bit off but something tells me the part I put in bold may very well have something to do with the problem here.

Yeah I kind of figured this was the issue. Just sucks that out of the three people who play here, my account was the unlucky one.

You need to face the fact your “friend” is lying to you. Support does not log on to players accounts and remove items, then change their passwords. That is just total nonsense.

I don’t believe he is lying to me. Otherwise why would my account be banned and why would he admit to telling me he scammed someone for it, and then as I watched him try to log on his password was incorrect. After that there’s no Dawn in his inventory. But to be completely honest with you, I don’t even care about what happens to his account after. Give him the ban that was clearly meant for him but given to me. There has to be some kind of game log that lists what a player has received and sent from their inventory. Which would be an easy way to clear this up.

By the way, a “friend” who cheats other people is not a person you need to remain friends with. As they say, birds of a feather flock together.

Is this the guy that scammed another player out of it? And now you are depending on him being truthful to you? I don’t think so. If he lied o another player he is more than capable of lying to you. You need to keep this in mind when dealing with him.

Yes I can depend on him being truthful to me, he is my roommate and a good friend for 7 years now. I watched him try to log on the morning after this all happened to see that he had the wrong password. This post is not about my friend scamming someone, it’s about my account being banned by mistake.

The first response you get is automated. It’s just to let you know they got your ticket and also to weed out people who have easily fixed problems. It’s the follow up responses that are from an actual person.

Yes, but the responses that I’m getting are exactly the same as when my account was banned for that jumping puzzle bug. So I’d rather get a staff member here on the forums that I can actually talk to.

If it’s anything other than “We have received your ticket” it’s not automated. It might be a form letter, but it’s not automated.

In a couple of days, if there has been no further contact, you can post your ticket number (or have your cousin post it for you) in the “Tickets 3 days or older for review” thread. Don’t post sooner, Gaile will ignore it.

As for the bit about the Dawn – sounds iffy to me. Anet does not go into peoples account and remove items.

Well yeah, I know they’re not completely automated but I feel as if they aren’t doing as much in depth research as they should be. It seems as if they are just giving out premeditated responses to each of my responses. I know there are some people who have had more luck contacting the staff through the forums to get better responses, so I thought I would do better here than through the tickets that I have been going back and forth on.

But yeah the Dawn is really strange to me, but what leads me to believe it was Anet staff was that someone had logged onto the account, removed the dawn, and then changed the password to my friends account; all the while no email was received to authorize the login, And yes we have searched through every folder in his email as well as recent logins in the “my account” area for Ip addresses that don’t match ours, none were found.

You do have to give them time to respond. I see from the ticket number that you made the ticket today. You need to give them a minimum of 24 hours. For posting in the forum, they request you wait for support to respond to your ticket and only post if your matter can’t be resolved or if it takes more than 3 days.

And yes I got a (mistaken) ban for gold selling so I know they make mistakes but they have to work through all the tickets they get on a daily basis.

The problem is that they have responded, but only with the same automated messages. I made this post because I wanted the staff on the forums to see it, because I know they are actually here.

From what you said, someone else (your cousin) is the actual owner of this account and you both play on this account. First, it may be that person who did something, not you. Second, it’s the account holder who needs to contact support not you. Third, ANet doesn’t like people sharing accounts because of situations like this.

I did not mean me and my cousin shared accounts, MY actual account is banned and I can’t even log onto the forums to make my own post. This account “Natedeegreat.1390” belongs to my cousin, and he let me log on to make this post. So yeah.

Last night my account was banned for “defrauding someone of in-game items, currency, or services”. I have had no part in any type of scam and a thorough search would have proved that. I submitted a ticket to support and I got automated responses saying “they had done an investigation and they were confident that the ban was justified, I would also not be unbanned”.

Last month I missed the Dragon Bash because I was banned for hacking, along with several other people, over that jumping puzzle bug that teleported you. Funny thing is that support gave me the same answers as they’re giving me now, it took a whole month for them to realize their mistake and unban me.

Now I’ve talked to my cousin (the owner of this account) and my room mate, both of whom share the same computer as me. Apparently my room mate tricked someone in my guild into sending him a Dawn. The person who sent it to him must have reported him because he logged on later and it was gone, his PASSWORD was also changed (something that I find completely wrong, but that’s another story).

Now onto my problem, last night when I got home I tried logging on and got the message saying I was banned for the reason above. BUT, my roommates account is still active. I’m mad at the fact that I was banned for no reason and that the guilty person actually got to keep his account but I’m even more mad about the fact that Support must not even be doing any research in their “investigations” to unban me. I’m going to assume that I was banned due to an account mix up, since we play on the same computer, but seriously banning someone is serious and the tickets submitted should be actually looked into in case there was a mistake on your side.

I know that there are actual staff members here who have helped others in the past, so please I’m asking one of you to actually take a look at this problem and help me out.
