Until recently, the owner alone was able to manage the arena and everything was depending on that 1 person. On dec 1st an admin list was added, which allows an arena-admin to use ‘custom arena commands’. Unfortunately, to actually manage an arena this is not enough. Why can’t the admin change certain important settings? It is definitely necessary to be able to change the map and teamsize, maybe even add a password. Also, an admin should be able to see how much time is left and add time to the arena while it is closed.
If the owner stops playing, which has just happened for my guild, the arena is unusable even with admin rights. If no more rights are added to the admins, the ownership should at least be transferable by the owner. Not even Customer Support can do that at the moment:
Unfortunately, the admin tools of a Custom Arena cannot be transferred to another player and as Customer Support we do not have a tool that allow us to do so. (Ticket no: 2003839)
Since this is a fairly new thing I’m just hoping that more rights are yet to come which will make the new arena admins worthy of that title.
Good evening.
When the patch hit on June 23rd, we knew there was something terribly wrong in the mists, wasn’t there? Eles were roaming freely across our maps. Unchecked, unchallenged, sustaining at will. Eles playing dd cele build with vamp runes.
How did this happen? Who’s to blame? Well certainly the balance team is more responsible than others, and they will not be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you’re looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror. I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn’t be? Rampage, Mesmers, burning. There were a myriad of problems in PvP which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your previous playstyle. Taunt got the best of you, and in your panic you turned to the now dominating class: Cele-Ele.
But there were some that resisted. An alliance of B-tier classes believed in frequent balance changes, and on the PvP forum, they cried for their viability. It soon became clear we couldn’t be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We stood united in our common interest. We were fighting for our right to live, to exist in the meta.
Victory was near….
Rune of Vamp downstate bug was fixed on Tuesday.
… but the power of the fire line could not be undone.
It was in this moment when all hope had faded that Anet reduced burning application and cantrip might gain. DD Ele, the nightmare of all soloQ PvP’ers, was nerfed.
From this moment forth the 29th of september will no longer be known as an ordinary patch day, but as the day when the B-tier classes declared in one voice:
WE WILL NOT GO QUIETLY INTO THE NIGHT!
WE WILL NOT VANISH WITHOUT A FIGHT!
WE’RE GOING TO LIVE ON!
WE’RE GOING TO SURVIVE!
WE WILL BE VIABLE AGAIN! (except rangers)
Today, we celebrate the Ele nerf!
