To expand your suggestion even further Quise, I think Arenanet should add a story-teller NPC to our home instances. With this, home instances would have a larger purpose (I can’t remember when was the last time I visited mine, because there is nothing to do there) but most importantly, people could experience the missed one-time events.
The story-teller NPC should work as a personal story step. You speak to him and he offers the events you missed. You choose one, and he let you play it through in an instance, just like a ps mission, you could even invite friends. These events should be played through once per account, so if you did it once, the NPC doesn’t offer it anymore (and of course if you were there when the event happened, you can’t do it again).
One-time events are cool, it gives a new experience to those who are there. But there are a lot of players out there who cannot attend these events, because they are in another timezone or they have to do something else. For them, these one-time events are wasted, they will never experience them and they will feel that they are out of something. So I think, that if Arenanet wants to do these kind of events in the future, they have to implement some solution like this.
A specific time would be cool. I’m at my sublet (college) where I don’t have sufficient computer for a dungeon and I will be home at 31st evening (gmt) only. I’m curious whether I will have time for at least one dungeon run, or not.
Today I bought the ghastly greatsword and it worked fine at the first night. My brother bought the ghastly staff and it is not glowing.
After several puzzles I ended up with open chests, so I couldn’t get any reward from them. I got the achievements but the reward chest was open. This happened today at the underwater organ puzzle too, the shell opened, but the chest inside it was already open (I never did this puzzle before).
I heard and read at several places that others have this kind of bug too, but I couldn’t find a common topic for it, only dedicated ones (for specific puzzles). A fix would be cool, because there are a couple of puzzles which takes time to solve, and they are fun and all, but seeing an already opened chest is not the best thing.
I’m 100% sure its not intended. There is no point to prohibit waypoint travel, zone change and logging out in a Monthly achievement. Its a bug and it should be adressed because it’s known since the start of the game.
Ok here is our problem.
My brother and I use the same computer to play Guild Wars 2 but have different accounts. When I play the game I can buy and sell at the TP with no problem. But when my brother logs in with his account he can’t do anything. The buy button is gray and the sell tab is just a black screen with the search field, so it could be an account related problem (we use the same client too, the account is the only difference).
My brother’s display name is Voledar.8169. We wrote an ingame bug report too about this issue.
