Thank you for the advice, but she loves WvW more than any part of the game. I watch her play it and it looks like tons of fun. I do appreciate the comment and you looking out for me though, GW2 has (what seems to be) a great community so far.

I really want to play the game. I have been waiting days since I first bought the game to join this server to play with gf + friends. Someone transfer out please!

So fictional characters (in the public domain, mind you, so not against the naming policy) and scientific principles named after them are now suggestive when the original piece of fiction was kinda suggestive sometimes. Got it.
So… are bookshelves suggestive now? Because I’m pretty sure I’ve seen porn with bookshelves in the background. I mean, the shelves weren’t doing anything suggestive, but I’m sure being in a porno somehow made them naughty, right?
Wait, I’ve got actual porn on my bookshelves. Dang. That’s unfortunate… Anyway, my point still stands, and I sincerely doubt my name is in any way suggestive.

Look, I just meant to a) explain why your name got changed and b) what you can do to avoid this issue in the future (though maybe I my tone was a little snide; I’ve got a headache, I’m moody). Obviously, and that doesn’t even have anything to do with the case at hand, no-one from staff thought my name was inappropriate, and surely the number of players who looked at it and thought “woah now, that’s not okay!” is tiny, if these people exist at all.
“Porn Stache” is an entirely different thing, and you should be aware that anything similar will get the same treatment (in case of a character, that would be the game asking you to rename the toon before you can proceed to play with it).

Nah… there was no escalation. I find the whole thread has been somewhat easygoing and playful. OP may have seemed a bit aggressive in his response to you, but I didn’t think it was overly so. But that’s just how I chose to interpret things. I try not to read too much tone into things people say in forums. I think the OP got the answers and help he was looking for… A new player looking for answers from other players when he didn’t get a quick response from technical support.

All good I would think. I shall never look at another bookshelf the same way Red Queen… Clearly, they are all filthy. LOL

Red Queen is correct though, I was kinda being kittenish… but only because I caught onto his snide tone Lol. Glad it’s all settled though. I too am in a mood due to this, and the fact I can’t play in the same server as my gf and friends since the server is full -.-’. Do you guys happen to know anything about that? She and friends are in “Blackgate”. Been trying since yesterday to get in (even tried at 2-3 a.m PST).

And is that true? They delay the response if you submit more than one ticket?

I am new to the game, just bought it yesterday. I come on today and they changed my name to Nectar Shop. My name before was “Porn Stache”. Did they really change my name because it was inappropriate? If so, why did it allow me to choose that name in the first place?! Also, I have received 0 emails or notifications from them letting me know they changed it or for what reason. Is there a way to change it back? I sent in 2 tickets yesterday and have received 0 emails back helping me with my issues, but with no hesitation they change my name because it has “porn” in it. Bad way to start a relationship with a new customer. Someone help? Considering I already received more help from these forums then I have had from them? Thanks in advance.

I just purchased the game, downloaded the GW2 Setup. Setup starts, downloads for about 3 seconds, then a Windows pop up shows up asking me if I want to “allow the following program to make changes to my computer”. To which I click yes. It then goes back to the download and it just freezes there. Stuck at downloading 0kb (0kb/sec). The client is “Not responding”. Please help me. Ty.
