What does everyone think about having a vendor that would let you trade-in your unlimited harvesting tools to trade for another that have come out? The reason for this is to have the appropriate “theme” for your character. For example, if playing a charr it would be great to have all molten based tools or as an asuran you would have all golem based tools, etc. If you’re like me you purchased these tools when they first came out and may have purchased additional sets for your other characters. I just think it would be a nice feature t have so you don’t have to keep purchasing these tools in order to acquire the right look/theme for your character. Plus these tend to be costly so having an option to trade-in these tools for the others would be greatly welcomed to the game.
Just my 0.02 cents.
Arenanet,
Just a thought but what about adding a raptor pet for the ranger? The ogre’s currently use them so why not let the players have access to them?
Lastly, not sure if this is more lore than anything but in Eye of the North, Sparkfly Fen was largely populated with dinosaurs. Did the dinosaurs just die out in the 250 years since GW1? Why not include some other dinosaur pets for the ranger to utilize?
Thanks for the feedback !
Is superior rune of the monk worth it? The number 6 ability seems like a good thing for a healer to have. I’d have to grind out the ascaleon catacombs dungeon though.
Has anyone used this rune that can speak to its usefulness?
Thanks in advance !

Dear Arenanet,
I’ve been playing your great products since the release of the first Guild Wars. I even purchased the GW2 Collectors Edition and have had countless memorable experiences as a result of these great games.
However, based on the April 2014 Features update, there are several items that have really hindered my enjoyment of the game. These observations/suggestions are not coming just from me but are based on conversations with my friends and fellow guild members who are paying customers of the game. It is not my idea to place blame on new ideas but to offer suggestions/opinions on what works in the game prior to the release of the April 2014 features update.
Suggestions:
1. Rework the daily/monthly achievements so there are subcategories for PVE and PVP. Prior to the update, it was supremely enjoyable to log-in and acquire the daily (& the much desired laurel) in a reasonable amount of time. I don’t believe that it is fair to create a situation for players where they HAVE to participate in PVP in order to achieve their daily. Prior to the features update, the daily was setup in a way that was fun and you didn’t realize you were going towards the achievement until it flashed on the screen. I loved how you could just log into a zone and get gatherer, kill variety, ambient killer, veteran or champion slayer, etc. and you were done with the daily. By making players have to participate in an event they don’t want to (e.g. PVP) you have created a game that FORCES players to play you want them to play not rewards them for doing what they love to do, which, to my understanding, was the impetus behind Guild Wars 2. To not make it feel like a grind.
2. Reset Champion/Boss Timers. Coming from a 30 something gamer who does not have a lot of time to play, waiting for champions to spawn for an extended amount of time (e.g. 30 minutes) wastes the players’ time and patience, resulting in them looking for other games to play. One feature that I enjoyed pre the April 2014 features update was that you could log into Frostgorge Sound or Queensdale and enjoy the “Champ Train”. What was great about this was that you could take down a number of champs for the daily/monthly achievement and get a lot of great loot in a reasonable amount of time. The older timing of champions was great because you could go from one champion to the next with minimum waiting time. By making players wait you are asking them to look for another game.
3. (Separate from the April 2014 Features Update) Engineer: Weapon Swapping. This has been a feature that’s been needed to be in the game for awhile now. As a player whose main is the engineer please add weapon swapping to this profession. I realize the profession has bundles to choose from but it should be easier to switch from pistols to rifle then having to open your inventory and equip the appropriate weapon in the slot.
Now for some positive comments, the wardrobe and trait reset options are extremely helpful and appreciated. Having skins that can be unlocked and stay with the character is great and the ability to reset your traits on the fly is a dream come true.
Thank you for taking the time to read these suggestions. I hope you can review them, reflect on them and possibly make some corrections so you continue to have a game that retains its current client base while attracting new/potential customers. I am glad to be a citizen of Tyria but I fear some of these new changes will impact the future of this great game !
Please re synchronize the champion/world boss events prior to the April 2014 update. This is a disaster ! You can no longer do the champion train runs to assist in getting your daily/monthly achievements in a timely manner. Why do we need to wait at least 30 minutes for a champion to appear? For gamers that don’t have a lot of time to play and want to get in to enjoy the game, ride the champ train, get the loot and log, this is not working. I consider this a reduction in the quality of life for the game ! I have thoroughly enjoyed this game and want to continue to enjoy it. Please adjust this accordingly. Thank you.
It would be great if ascended gear (e.g. amulets, rings, accessories and back items) were account bound and not soul bound. I feel that this would provide more freedom to the player when they want to try out different builds on their main character as well as on their alternate characters. You can review fan sites, run numbers, etc. all day long to see how different builds would work but it all comes down to how it works for you in-game. By having the freedom to purchase various ascended gear items from the laurel merchant knowing that any character you have created can try them out would create the flexibility in build experimentation that I having been wanting in this game.
Thanks for listening !

Presently, “The Bowl of Roux” ingredient does not show up when in the discovery panel. I’ve noticed other ingredients that do not show up in this tab as well. All of these ingredients are in my inventory.
Any assistance to fix this bug would be greatly appreciated !
I recently tried to complete my personal story, "Temple of the Forgotten God, and my weapon skills were bugged halfway through the story so I could not activate them anymore. I also was not able to pickup the “keys” to activate the doors to progress to the next room. Please fix. Thanks !
Just a thought here but it would be great if you had unique/custom skins for the bundles (e.g. elixir gun and flamethrower) that the engineer utilizes. There a plethora of skin choices for your main weapon already so why not for bundles?
It would be great if all food items were open and not “account bound”. What I’ve found is I’ll try out a new crafting profession, purchasing these account bound items, and then switch professions only to not be able to give these items to guildies/friends. Please amend accordingly to fix this issue.
Dear Arenanet,
I recently used 100 gold to purchase the commander ability for myself for my guild so that we can enjoy the squad ability. I was disappointed to see that I do not have the option to see all of my squad members as teal circles (as you do in the party option). Please enable this option for the commander as it only seems fair given its cost in-game. Thank you.
Just Trogdor: Unfortunately from what I’ve seen in the game you can’t adjust the stacks into a specific number when mailing to friends/guildies.
Please create an option when mailing friends ingredients/food items so that you can select the number of a certain item you wish to mail them. As it stands right now, you can only mail individuals the maximum number of what you have.
Well thank you for the heads-up on the ability of the engineer to use dual pistols. I tried equipping dual pistols on mine in the past and without any luck. I always assumed it was a bug or that the engineer wasn’t able to. I just tried it and it worked. Thanks !
I have 2 suggestions for you:
1. Enable the engineer to use dual pistols. A thief can do so why not an engineer who solely specializes in firearms?
2. For items purchased from the trading post that are account or soul bound, create a feature that would allow you to gift these items to a friend at a later date.. I’ve purchased several items that were available for a limited time only, e.g. harvesting tools and armor skins, in this fashion only to not be able to mail them to a friend because I bought them through my account.
