One of the most laziest thing I have EVER. I mean EVER saw. The patch itself to the city. Its awesome. It leaves you wanting more.
But when you are doing the personal story for the first time or for the <insert number here> times and when the living story invades into the story. It looks like the most laziest mess ever. It’s like a cross between “WTF” I mean seriously, devs?
You couldn’t either make Lions Arch look like how it was before Scarlet blew <-beep-> up or at least ab-lib the story to make the “return” of Destiny’s Edge more sense. Kids playing “Destiny’s Edge” while things are falling down, <beep> is burning, the whole city looks like a hot effing mess and then there is MIASMA in the air? And then you have random citizens standing around, doing nothing. Acting like it’s literally “Another day in the neighborhood” and “What’s a Scarlet?” Or “What’s this big thing drilling into Old LA?” kitten Dur.
I’m sorry..eh-squeeze me a moment. Isn’t the title of the patch “Escape from Lions Arch.” I know this Living Story is POST Zhaitan. Zhaitan is dead.
But, the personal story should AT LEAST either AGAIN reflect the prior Lions Arch or do something to make the personal story…I dunno…make sense?
I’m not sure if you care much..about anyone re-doing their personal story. Or doing it for the first time (Since you advertise so clearly to buy Guild Wars 2 at the end of each trailer for newbie players) . Stop..looking LAZY! Or being lazy.
Go through the personal story…and ask yourself on the level 30 mission of the reunion of Destiny’s Edge. The whole Lions Arch looking like a war zone do any of these make sense?
If it does…feel free to ignore this post/rant. And laugh yer way to the bank.
If it doesn’t. Review it, revise it. Re-edit. Please. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Durmand Priory Scholar

Technically as stated from Marjory they haven’t officially named themselves a couple. They are more or less friends with benefits.
Wintersday. In GW1, it was probably out of one of the major holidays when I first played the game. Everything was decked out. Most of all major cities got decorated. But beyond that, there was a story line. Even though the storyline was mainly about the battle of Dwayna vs Grenth. There was a story to be told. An adventure. It made the holidays more festive. Because in GW1 Halloween wasn’t the only extravagant holiday with a tale to talk about. So the only opinion (or rather suggestion) I hope for. I want Wintersday to have more “depth” to it. If one of the Orders can get involve with the origins and lore about Halloween, surely they can do so with Wintersday.
I’m just waiting for the “Flame” wars of fans of Guild vs Guild to bash and rant at Arenanet -waits with popcorn-
Something my husband said. “Oh, you’re going to force us to give you a PvP mode we don’t want to do so you’ll stop kittening and disrupting our other modes? Fine, then we’re adding Scarlet to it just to spite you. Enjoy <insert slang for female dog>.”

My main Nesiko Tomoe
Helm: Berserker’s Cabalist Hood
Shoulders: Shaman’s Conjurer Mantle of the Grove
Coat: Sentinel’s Cabalist Coat of the Shaman
Gloves: Light Fused Gauntlets
Leggings: Traveler’s Conjurer Pants of Mercy
Boots: Berserker’s Cabalist Boots of Divinity
Skull, all I’m saying is. I expected more from this event then just dungeons and mini-games. If ye want to flame because I’m just letting out an opinion go elsewhere. And besides in Guild Wars, since I’m a Guild Wars Veteran I’m only stating this because they did go OBNOXIOUS with the decoration. Ascalon, Eye of the North, Kamaden, Draknor’s Forge all got decorated. I expected they would do the same, again. I expected an epic storyline like Halloween. I’m not just complaining about one particilar “mini-game” activity for LA. I will get to that sometime between 20th and the 3rd. This something I expected from Arena Net since well I had much love for Wintersday.
So what if I wanna see what everyone’s opinion if they are all (or half) saying the samething. So…if ye don’t like what I am “complaining” about get out of my Old Regrets! And back off before I….turn you into a moa!
Skull, one city is decorated. Only LA. All of the other cities has it’s “Park here for Tixx” and scattered magical snow. That’s not decoration. I didn’t participate in the event, yet because one during the event it got almost impossible to enter the thing because game kept crashing. And me and my fiance, had opted to wait and see what most of the community felt about the “finale”. From what it looks like, it’s not that good. Am I complaining for the sake of just to “whine”? No, I was really looking forward to Wintersday and it just seems to me, just on the “meh” scale compare to Halloween. Just sayin’.
To me the whole event seem or felt underwhelming. During the build up to the “finale” it would have been a little more interesting. More Awesome. Capable to rival the Halloween Event but not so blah. Majority when Wintersday came about, I was hoping ALL of the cities to be decorated (like in Guild Wars). I just felt like it be so cool seeing Divinities Reach, Hoelbrak, Rata Sum and all just sparkling with holiday cheer. Instead of magic snow in random locations or where Tixx’s big airship to park at. During the course of the event, I was even hoping for more then just dungeon run. I felt like “That’s it?” No special wintersday dynamic event (timed during the course of the day, instead of the BS One-Time event) or at least Wintersday’s day verison heart quests. scattered through out Tyria design for some sort of purpose. That I don’t know connected to the lore some how (like the Shadows of Mad King!)
And then the “finale”, even though I felt underwhelm through most of the event. I had some hope or thought something cool would happen with the finale. And the sound “toyapcolypse” (sorry if I misspelled it), I was stuff would go down in LA. I wonder what landmark in Lions Arch would get broken this time. I haven’t gotten to participate in the event yet. And the mix reviews floating on the forums (With a high percent of flakers leaving because of one achievement) the event doesn’t compare well to Wintersday in GuildWars and exceed expectations of it. Or even compare or rival up to the standards of Halloween. I was going through the event at most maybe a 5/10 until the “finale” probably now a 4/10. :/

I don’t wanna be one of those ‘whinny’ ones OMG I wanna see Mad King Thorn for halloween over caring for my health. Yes, our major concern should be our safety. But we have been anticipating seeing the Grand Finale with Mad King Thorn for over a year. (Since I am also one of the ones effected by Sandy) So far, so good. My good luck is nerfing Hurricane Sandy’s power. Even if Tyria will still be here…Halloween WONT we want to be able to participate the event. I don’t give a rats kitten about any achievement. I don’t care. Really. I want to see the awesomeness of Mad King pulling crappy kitten jokes and slaying us to death with ‘em. (Literally) I have been anticipating the event since the start of BWEs. I was like ’Oh my god…I can’t wait for halloween. How will they do Mad King Thorn? Its going to be so AWESOME’ It just happen to be bad luck for most of us Noreasters can’t play. Good luck if you don’t wanna go to work.
I’m really surprise that people are getting “OMG your money kitten us” Dude….play MegaTen. Those are for realz MONEY kittenS. But I learned my lesson with them don’t gamble. And they implemented rare drops before in GW1. Does the Canthan New Year Ring a bell? You can farm a lot with questing to get the rare mini. Not 100% chance you’ll get it. Not to mention from what I know from my fiancee, these skins won’t last long.
Then what about the ShiverPeaks? DR? It has >people< living in there. Why doesn’t a very large castle have Halloween decorations?
