Defense, Tactics, and Discipline Rework

Or maybe leave CI as is but make it a Minor Trait.

And as always and i will keep saying it Fast Hands + Warrior Sprint (just the 25% speed) need to be baseline.

While Fast Hands could be justified as Warrior being a master of weapons and therefore having a low baseline weapon swap, is having something like warrior sprint as baseline really fair? All other classes out there have to sacrifice for increased move speed.

Weap swap can be justified in a way because other classes sometimes have extra systems that act as extra weapons; Ele attunements is an example of this. But Movement speed is something that is the same across the board. Although the ways that it can be increased may differ, all classes move at the same speed normally, whether they are a melee/ranged/squishy/tanky/etc. class.

@ the OP:

I don’t have any objections to it, I would like most of these changes (although I don’t know what the*embrace the pain* trait your talking about is. I do have a few suggestions though.

I feel that leg specialist should apply immobilize at the same duration as cripple would have been

To make Sundering more attractive you simply have to increase war’s survivability so that people don’t feel forced to have defy pain in order to survive.

I would ask for Last Stand to also reduce cooldowns of stances or at the very least swap the duration increase for a cooldown decrease.

[Suggestion] Evade hate

The real problem is how Anet has been giving too many offensive skills and skill effects evasion and way too much evade to some people. What they should do is tone down the amount of offensive ability is attached to evades. However, assuming that they don’t do this then I will give my thoughts on this.

1) Anything outright ignoring evades would just be dumb because it would basically stomp all over people using real evades as a means to avoid nukes. It would also make warrior a no skill required class that could destroy anyone at any time by just using sig of might + beserker stance/healing sig to ignore blinding + w/e would cause “unavoidable” on a full power build.

2) This is a bit better, as long as it isn’t something too crazy. I still beleive that it would be really OP vs people who don’t have many skill evades because it would mean that it would be way too easy for war to land high damage skills on them.

3) I feel like this could be a good idea with a few tweaks. If I may, I have a suggestion for this.

It can be a trait that causes vulnerability to apply an additional debuff called “Dizziness” or “Vertigo” which causes the affected player’s damage to be reduced by 90% for a second every time the player evades, (and will apply itself every second in the case of constant evasion skills) evading (I say reduced by 90% rather than outright missing because I don’t want to affect evasions that lead to CC or conditions)

This way, people that use evasion sparingly, as a way to avoid nukes (as it was intended be in the first place) aren’t punished too harshly while people with OP evade attacks have their attacks almost completely nullified and only benefit from the evasion by not being able to be hit (which, as I said before, is how it should be)

A few ideas for buffing

Greatsword is already by far the most widely used warrior weapon. And main reason for this is forceful greatsword trait, which is by far the best weapon related trait. So overpowered that it is limiting warrior build diversity.

I would recommend first looking at underused weapon combinations and traits. I really don’t want to turn warriors into GS or nothing profession.

Its just that I feel the base skills for GS could work much better. I’m just looking at the weapon alone, not the traits.

Here are some ideas for sword if you want

Sword
S#1: Hamstring cripple lasts 2s
S#3: Animation speed decreased to .5 seconds
S#5: Riposte animation speed decreased to 0.25 seconds, blocking a projectile causes the warrior to leap towards the attacker extremely quickly and preform the riposte (Shield master will still reflect the projectile)

A few ideas for buffing

First of all I know the topic of buffing wars has been brought up multiple times and that some of you think that nothing will ever change. Too bad! I still want to add a few of my own ideas to all the ones floating around in this forums. Now, I haven’t played warrior long, so my ideas may not be the best and it won’t cover everything warrior has since I don’t have a deep knowledge on all weapons, but here are somethings I feel would help.

Greatsword
GS#2: Base range increased by 50, number of targets increased to 5, cast time decreased to 3 seconds, gains protection for skill duration.

GS#3: Range increased to 500, hits spread out over the range (currently the hits only apply for what feels like half the range), targets hit are pulled with the attack.

GS#4: Throwing animation decreased to 1/2 a second, projectile tracks enemies and has animation sped up by about 30% (currently this is the only target locked projectile I know that can miss from someone walking away from it), targets hit by return strike are inflicted with vulnerability.

GS#5: The hit animation is sped up by around 30%

Stances
Defiant Stance: Breaks stun and has no cast time.

Beserker stance: Conditions already applied grant increased damage per condition (3%)

The Last Stand trait decreases stance cooldown by 20%

Looking for advice for a starting theif

So, I basically went made a theif, went to sPvP, got wreaked by everyone and then came here for advice. I don’t really care about the theif OP BS or theif UP stuff because I have always played rogue classes in MMO’s and always will. Basically I like doing double dagger, stabby stabby builds but between all the AoE, stuns/daze/immobilize status effects, and being bad at evading while always getting evaded. I find it pretty hard to do anything before I die in like 2 seconds or shadow step away only to die to burning/bleed/ect.

Basically when I fight I have no idea what to do, no matter what weapon I use. So can someone give me good advice for a 1v1 focused build that can also avoid all those stupid AoE spammers in team fight and give me good videos to learn how to evade/how to use that build? Preferably something with dual daggers.
