bump, problem still unresolved

my friend is having the same issue. He can run the launcher and log in, but when he clicks play the launcher closes and thats it.

hes running windows 8.1

So far hes tried:
update drivers
-repair shortcut
-windowed shortcut
-useoldlauncher shortcut
run ccleaner registry cleaner
run antivirus scan
reinstall game
compatibility mode for xp, 7, vista

Has anyone figured out this issue? My friend is having this issue now. He has reinstalled, ran anti virus, reg cleaners, created -repair shortcut and run that, tried in various compatibility modes, tried with other shortcuts like -useoldlauncher and -windowed. updated drivers, installed directX 9c, none of this has helped at all.

hes played the game before on the same laptop, only dif i can think of is his fresh install of windows 8.1 instead of 7. but my game works on 8.1

Anti-stealth trap is ridiculous. it SPECIFICALLY targets thieves. all other classes who get hit with this are unencumbered. but thieves get a death warrant signed.

imagine a trap where mesmers cant create illusions and clones for 30 seconds.

or a trap where guardians cant use stability and blind for 30 seconds.

This trap messes with the entire mechanics of a single class while providing no serious debuff to any other class. how is that fair? You’ve unbalanced the thief class with a single addition congratulations.

Okay I keep seeing root/flower and such all over the place.
PLz someone explain to me why.
I mean that is what they made of, but that does not mean you gotta call them that.

I mean in real life you a human but I dont see anyone calling themselves hairy, meaty or humanoids. We made of them, but we never use them as names.

theres a **** ton of human names that use man in them. so why wouldnt u see plant creatures with plant in them
