Hearts and minds, boss invulnerable?

This is my first time doing this quest and the game’s story. I was killing the boss and got into the phase in which he summons a bunch of mobs. I killed those and used the rift, but the boss was still invulnerable and everything else stopped (no more rifts, mobs, allies standing still, etc).

I tried breaking his bar manually but my CCs were ignored by the system.

As a new player, it’s so absurdly frustrating not to be allowed to complete the main storyline of the game.

I looked around and read people with the same issue a year ago. Is there any workaround to this? Happened twice already.

Its impossible in this system to judge a single players performance. The guy that gets 225pts probably got those points because the guy on his team that got 120pts was doing his job effectively.

This is the flaw in the GW2 system, your MMR isn’t accurate unless you are in a 5’s team, constantly. You cannot truly get an individuals true skill level, because of the team play in this game and the “paper, rock, scissors” style to the builds system.

However, more information is good for those that can read it without a bias. For example, it would be nice to see power damage done split over NPCs and PCs. Because, who cares about how much cleave damage you do on a MM necro, you care about how much damage you do to the player.

What would be good is the ability to share your stats with people in your team or party.

Very true. In the end I believe it’s easier to give up on trying to rank players and simply give all the information you can. The players can then sort out the data as they wish in comparison to their teammates or the opposing team.

Instead of giving random points that hardly reflect the match the players would be presented with data, so they can sort as they see fit.

PvP macebow vs mace and s/t? Guidance please

Hey everyone,

I’ve been learning about the warrior and trying both builds (macebow and mace with sword/torch, as showed in metabattle). Can anyone give further opinions on how both perform in comparison to each other?

Also, since I’m really new to all this, is there a place where I can read some basic rotations/overall guidance about the build (as metabattle usually doesnt give very basic information of build usage, just the specifics)? Most of what I found on the internet was press f1, but yeah, some more comments on the skills would be nice (again, I’m a newbie).

Hey,

I know this is kinda of a beat topic, so am sorry to discuss this yet again. Just bear with me please.

I’d like to request a more informative scoreboard.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I know it’s impossible to completely measure a player’s influence in the match as many aspects cannot be gathered by the system. Not only that, numbers can be sometimes an ego exponential factor, true.

That’s why my request is not for a “better” scoreboard, but rather for a system that gives more information. Plain and simple. Means that instead of ranking players by points, it’d simply give every bit of possible information and players would be allowed to filter/drop down as they see fit. No more ranking, just information.

A few examples would be: total damage, condition damage, total healing, resses, executes, assists, points capped, time spent in combat on capped points, etc.

Instead of going for a way to rank players, which can be impossible, we’d be given extensive information to work with and select what we find relevant. Now, I understand no amount of data can truly represent a player’s performance, but I believe that extensive information can contribute more positively than the current system.

The main benefit would be to allow players to identify their performance (or part of it, better saying, as numbers are limited) in comparison to their team/enemy team and thus improve.

More, it’s a way to influence players to find each other and group up. As of now it is extremely rare to find people in PvP and actually join/group then at the end, as opposed to what happen in some MMOs.

PvP meta ranged build for ele?

Hey,

I’m new to the game and have been playing ele. After I researched a little I could only find melee builds (D/F) being competitive in PvP. Problem is, although I enjoy using staff and scepter, I really dislike the D/F build. Is there a competitive ranged ele build for PvP in the current meta?

Oh, btw, by PvP I mean instanced, not counting wvw.

Also, sorry about such a silly question.
