Guild Wars 2

Ok so no idea why, but GW2 is fixed now for whatever reason. I’ve been playing ESO for the past month, with an average FPS of 30-50. Today I log on, and am getting over 100fps. I was like “wtf?” and immediately logged into GW2 out of curiosity. I’m getting 68fps in Divinity’s Reach now (see attachment).

Don’t know if there was a GeForce experience patch, windows update or maybe even the fact that its roughly 20 degrees cooler today than it has been all summer (never had temperature problems, but who knows, could have been an issue.)

Try re-seating your graphics card.

I took the card out, made sure it was clean (no dust) and plugged everything back in. Still getting about 15 frames per second in Divinity’s Reach, however, WvW is a bit better, running at 24 FPS right now.

For reference, I’ve been playing ESO at mid settings with 35-50 FPS in towns, and about 25-30 in Cyro pvp (its like GW2’s wvw mode). Also playing Path of Exile with about 60ish FPS on high.

Any way of telling if the card is going bad? I’m not getting artifacting or distortion, no shutdowns or blue screens. Everything seems to be running fine except GW2.

Kombustor score 12736 FPS 212 (is about the same, maybe slightly higher than other 1080 tests on the Kombustor site)

Any other fixes for this besides disabling addons? I only use Rainmeter WB timers, which I uninstalled completely. I also uninstalled and reinstalled GW2, updated my graphics drivers, and checked my internet speed (61mbps) – and I’m still getting anywhere from 5 to 20 FPS in LA, Divinity’s Reach, EotM and the WvW bl’s. Its pretty much unplayable pvp wise. I can do some random pve stuff, like gathering nodes and farming small packs of mobs, but it’s still choppy at times.

i7 6700k @4Ghz
32 gb DDR4
MSI GTX 1080 8GB
GW2 is installed on a 256 gb samsung ssd
Running Windows 10 64bit
Core temp has cpu at 19 to 23 degrees

Ram is fine; I can play BDO, ESO, Diablo 3, Path of Exile and Marvel Heroes with no problems.

I usually get anywhere from 35 to 70 fps (Svanir Shaman wb never drops below 45)

Have Anet said anything about a patch for the fps drop issue?

I reformatted my pc and reinstalled Windows 10 and GW2. Even held off on installing my usual virus software (Kaspersky), and just had the bare minimum updated (drivers, windows updates). GW2 still doesn’t run any better after being completely patched, so this FPS issue is on Anet’s side. I’ll post again when things are running better.

I’m also getting huge lag spikes, but no disconnections in PvE (Teq) and WvW (Eternal Battlegrounds). Ping goes from 78 to over 3000 within seconds, and I’m on 60 mbps internet.
