I’ve been hearing good things about the work you’ve done.

On our way to the top, you were by far my favorite server to battle against. Fierce fighting, no drama, genuinely fun players.

I am looking forward to clashing steel with all of you in Tier1.

7-day transfer lockout is close but no cigar.

The biggest issue I’m seeing is server collusion, where 2 servers work together to maintain a stranglehold on a tier, and prevent other servers from winning.

Case in point: Vizunah and Arborstone. They consistently win-trade and 2v1 any server that moves into tier1. They can deny it all they want: it’s happening.

It took a group of players creating a juggernaut to even compete.

Last week, Arbor took 3rd place. To prevent Arbor being moved to tier2 (thus ending the ability to 2v1) several large guilds transferred to Arbor in order to push them to 1st and keep both FR servers in tier1.

Unfortunately for them, not enough transferred, and the end result was that both servers were left weakened and deso is crushing them.

I give credit to the french for using this bad transfer policy to their advantage. I fully support using every advantage available, and don’t hold it against anybody.

This is simply a loophole that needs to be closed. It can be done several ways:

1.) Raise the lockout to 14 days: this would definately ease the win-trading, but wouldn’t prevent the spies and supply-burners.

2.) Keep the 7-day transfer lockout, but lockout a player from RETURNING to the old server for 90 days: this would eliminate almost all of the spies and supply-burners, and also make it impossible to win trade.

EU vs NA

Tier1 EU and Tier1 US are two totally different worlds.

I’ve played in both, and I can tell with all certainty that any t3 EU server would easily annihilate the top US server.

That’s why RUIN went to the EU bracket: the US servers push during the weekend and give up on sunday night. The EU servers have bloody 24/7 warfare until friday when they restart.

Anybody who loves WvW and is still playing in the US has not experienced GW2 at all.

Come on over to Desolation, jump in Teamspeak with RUIN, and play a real WvW match.

Tonight we dine in Hell !

Viz and Arbor have been fun fights. Deso was looking for a challenge and we found one.

Unfortunately, the biggest challenge has not been strategy or good players. The main thing Deso had to overcome has been fighting a 2-front war against servers who ignore eachother and only hit us. We actually like that a lot. It’s forced us to play a political game as well as war strategy. The alliance has to be broken, so we chose the weakest (Arbor), and we will simply remove them from the tier. Viz is using Arbor when it’s convenient, and when Viz needs more points-per-tick, they simply rout all of Arbors territory. In turn, we nuke green off the map, which will force them to either break their alliance, or be moved down to a lower tier.

Sorry Arbor. Nothing personal. If you continue to follow Viz’s orders and not help us attack them: you have to go.

As for Viz, I’m really impressed at Viz’s ability to rally their server during night hours, their investment into upgraded siege, and the alarm-clock raids are very fun to destroy. What I’m not impressed with is the really high amount of exploiting past gates, cross-realmers burning our supply down by building multiple flame rams everywhere. I certainly hope its just a few individuals and not the major guilds, but when our scouts, with their own eyes, watch a mesmer dolphin out of the water, past the out gate, port a 50-player zerg into an orb keep, and fast build upgraded siege… well, we draw our own conclusions. It’s ok though, our response team arrived in plenty of time to kill them all.

If deso doesn’t come up with the win this week, thats fine with us. Our only real goal this week was to break Arbor. If the bracket is the same next week, we expect Arbor to start attacking Viz, and if they don’t they will be summarily executed. Without Arbor, Viz will quickly fall to the all powerful Deso.

Now that Mad King dungeon is gone...

I’m forced to use the default zoom-out.

I tried to play without being allowed to zoom out how far I wanted to for about 30 minutes today, and logged out in disgust.

I love this game, but the forced-zoom you impose on me is awful and I can’t keep playing.

Please make the Mad King zoom-out permanent.

Currently, jumping into the mad king dungeon allows a player to zoom out significantly farther until they log out.

Finally, the game is fun instead of annoying to play. I can actually see the battlefield around me. I can use siege equipment the way it was meant to.

I’m dreading the end of the event because I’ll have to play with the horrible claustrophobic (did i spell that right?) zoomed-in view again. The force-zoomed view has been making it hard to like this game since I started playing.

Please consider allowing us to permanently keep this zoom-out range.
