Hello Ashley – thank you for your response.
I have tried deleting my local.dat file as well as repairing the game without success.
/bump
Still no solution and the random crashes while playing are becoming more frequent…
Have your tired the GW2 repair option? it just a fresh download of the game initiated with command on the shortcut. Create a new shortcut open properties and in the target line add “space” -repair after gw2.exe so it looks like \gw2.exe -repair. perhaps those sections of the game causing the problem are not loaded correctly.
Thank you for your reply. I’ve just tried this and I’m sorry to report that it made no difference.
hmm, it should be a proper seasonic or whatever high end they used at the time then.
have you checked the smart stats on that HDD lately? F3’s are prone to high raw errors that could manifest in a way that crashes the computer at times.
Thank you for the reply, I have downloaded a program to monitor my HDD, though I don’t really know what to look for :P
It says that the health of it is 82% (good enough?).
Furthermore, it can do a smart test, where it presents numbers for “value”, “threshold” and “worst” – no idea what they should read like ^^
Bought it: 2009-09-27

Ofc my “Antialiasing – Mode” is set to Application-controlled…
Hello
My computer crashes every time I’m trying to create a thief. As soon as I press the icon of this profession, no matter which race I’ve chosen, I get a black screen and a “brrrr” sound from the speakers, forcing me to do a hard reset. The same thing can also happen in game while playing one of the characters I have managed to create, though this is very random. It can happen after 10min of playing of after several hours.
Some of the things I have tried are:
- No errors in DxDiag
- No errors using memtest86
- Have removed the “Realtech” driver
- Tried this: Start /Controle panel/System and security/power management/The schedule settings/Change advanced power settings/PCI Express/Link state power management/turn this off.
- Likely not a temperature issue – computer cleaned last week, all fans are working, using GPUTemp for monitoring (temp is about 40-60 C), using a “Cooler Master” case and crashes (after standing the whole night cooling down) in the morning even if it is the first thing I try to do.
Computer Specs:

Display Devices: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295 (latest driver)
PSU: Corsair Powersupply TX 850W
Motherboard: ASUS M4A79T Deluxe, Socket-AM3

Help would be much appreciated.
