I support this idea. My only hope is that I hope the devs take there time to read these suggestions as they are good information to improve the games quality.
The guild system is unique, but it is lacking in important areas that you pointed out.
I was greatly disappointed when I figured out when that the abilities i’m using now will the be the abilities i’m using when i’m level 80.
That is extremely boring disappointing.
There needs to be a weapon skill tree or web. A sense of progression as you get higher in level. Each weapon should have skill tree or web for each class.
I’m not sure if i’m the only one who feels this way but it is a let down to me.
If not skill trees, then maybe at a certain level, when you go to your guardian trainer you can learn a new set of skills for that weapon depending on your skill level with that weapon. Getting this new set will unlock new abilities for that weapon, and you will easily be able to switch back and forth between your new and old abilities.
For example say you get the new set of abilities for greatswords, but you really like the " 5 " for the old set of skills, you would be able to choose between the new ability and the old ability any time.
I realize that there are waypoints and these cancel the purpose of mounts, but there are some times when i’d rather not use a waypoint and there are sometimes when there aren’t even waypoints at all(WvW). There needs to be a way of transportation other than the waypoints.
The instant teleport system is cool, but its more fun to explore the world on foot. Games like skyrim and fallout have fast travel, but its encouraged to not use it as you will miss out on stuff along the rodes, in Guild wars case, its world events.
One thing me and my friend loved about world of warcraft, were the mounts, and the large verity of mounts. He would spend most of his time on WoW raiding and gathering gold to afford these rare and legendary mounts. It was a great sense of accomplishment to own something that a lot of people didn’t have.
The armor dye system can be used to further customize your mounts in unique ways, determining what mount it is. It would be cool to have your own personal touch on an already rare mount.
One way to balance out mounts and waypoints is to greatly reduce the amount of waypoints in the world, (and)or increase the cost to use them.
WvW could greatly use the mount system, its a pain to walk everywhere.
I don’t know if mounts have already been suggested and shut down, but i’m trying to voice my best opinion what I think would be a great addition. I like this game, and I really want to see it do great.
