Now to my question.
I had to clear up the debate about the mortar turrret bild that i’ve been using. I wonder if it is OP? Say with a net turret, flame turret and rock turret in addition to the mortar elite , isnt that def OP in sPVP? Single combat? I can just go to a corner. Set up a wall of turrets. Hide behind it. And the masterpiece, a mortar that i can own the poor guy with? Just my thoughts. Have I been exploiting?
And the elexir and boon idea, starting to like it. If you can add more OP to The UP that would definetlyu be the best for the minus DPS and more to the HP.

Do yu refer to cows as being animals and as can be pets? I would like to have a cow on my ranger, will that ever be possibel? Heres what skills I would like on my cow
1 Ranged – throw your horns at target
2inflict a poison cloud of kitten and flies (area of effect)
3 draw enemies to that spot
4 throw yourself (the cow) at foes – aka blast finish tem of.

I wonder if theres a bug in my achievemnt on log in screen btw, because i had two chars one master wisps ands one knowledge dude.,. But hence since relase of patch i had to delete them cause of overload on my PC. When i installed client again the aciecvment is credited but characters dead. And i cant se my achievemnt in HoM either. Is htat a bug between log in screen and transportal stone?
Anyone else with same problems? Or if i still get credit for it on log-in im happy either way.

The only thread with more views than this one, as I far as I can tell, is “On Botting and What We’re Doing About It”. I don’t know much about botting, but it just makes me more frustrated to know that this new tier is not the only problem people have. Since there are over 100.000 views on that thread too, I guess some players have other issues on top of it all

Thank you so much guys, for the enlightenment in this thread, and the thread about the new stats on ascended items. You have helped me make up my mind, cause breakups are always hard to do.
But I guess I can go elsewhere, where I’m not supposed to chase the hidden pot of gold in the end of the rainbow. Maybe just linger in Prophecies for a while, if they haven’t introduced a new tier patch there as well. And if they did, there won’t be any tier high enough for the healing required

I can’t seem to find the terms and condition agreement that I made with ArenaNet/NCSoft when I purchased the game. Does anyone know where I can find it? Cause I would just like to see what I actually agreed to.
But my general thoughts this far are anyway as follows: (What I signed under in the agreement set aside for a brief moment)
I buy a product with a description and outlines of a concept that I agree to (e.g. the Manifesto), I make a financial commitment and I think that everything is OK. No worries this far.
In my past I have actually never been a part of a trading quite like this has evolved, since it’s often not possible or desirable to change the content of the product after the customer have purchased it (like a jar of jelly or a book). Or – as in this case – I have never seen anyone change a basic principle for a product, just in an instant.
And here’s what the salesman say to me: I see your concern, you have bought our product and that is nice for our pockets of course, but we chose to take a different course than the visionaries (I still love their work anyway. And I hope they get rid of the interferers someday, for the love of the game) you originally had an agreement with. And from now on here’s how this will go down: We will spend your money on a game mechanic you didn’t sign up for. The rules of the game has changed, because some people want to do something else. We will try to make them happy as long as we can, and after that maybe some other rules will apply. Just remember for the future – Cash is King.
I mean, isn’t it a very basic principle in keeping a society functional: a certain amount of trust, commitment and follow-up of promises and agreements?
Even though I expect the agreement I signed under when getting the game, to have all the loopholes covered. (Note to self: Always read, copy and keep agreements on a safe place from now on – even though they probably just benefit the company anyway.)
Some say that there has not been any violation against the basic principles stated in the Manifesto yet, we all have to wait and see the impact, people read to much in-between the lines and so fort and so fort….

Please note before further reading: This was not between the lines. It was THE lines.
They are introducing a new rarity in the upcoming patch. Ascended has slightly higher stats than Exotics. It was introduced to make hard-core players feel more progression. They now see the need to already adding item progression (a delicate matter normally undertaken in an expansion? – the deal was no item progression at all beyond exotics as I recall. But my memory of the Guild Wars 2 Manifesto is already fading.)
Thank you intruders for taking over the game. Thank you for changing the rules. Thank you for at least never having interfered with Guild Wars 1 and screwing up that experience too. Thank you for re-inventing the rules so soon, so I can easily decide what game I actually agree or disagree to play. And thank you for saving my money and gems on the game and expansions that I was looking forward to in the years to come. I hope you get all the money that you need and crave for from the people you want to keep. But like they say – you can’t buy love and affection. Guild Wars 1 in its best form was all about that.
The only thing I hope for – is that this “Bait and Switch” strategy that they are doing is illegal, and that they can’t actually change the rules as they see fit. Which is less likely..
Or even better just abondon the whole idea of item progression once and for all.
Anyway my confidence and trust in the system is broke, my commitment is broke, my loyality is broke, my spirit is broke, my heart..

Hi everyone,
this is my first post on these forums. I usually just play the game, this time however I can’t just stay quiet.
I bought all the original titles, charater slots, costumes and finaly the collectors edition of this game with the idea that at least one company understood what I was searching for. Arenanet seemed to be the real deal. I was fully willing to support them with future purchases and good word of mouth.
However the manifesto and all they stood for has just been proven to be nothing more then a big dissapointment in the light of the recent announcements.
That’s what I feel right now, not anger, just dissapointment.As a company they have lost my faith as a customer and as a loyal fan of their franchise.

What you said is just about the way I feel…
I recently also posted for the first time in the forum, just a few moments ago. And now, a few moments later, there are already some more pages of posts of disapproving and disappointment, and some support for the stats striving goals that seems to be the new deal.
That said, I should have been better at telling when things are going great, and not wait until it seems that what I care for is going down the drain.
My first encounter with (MMO)CO-RPG was Guild Wars 1 and after some years of basically no gaming at all, it was really all I wanted and was looking for from a game. So I was loyal and bought all the campaigns, character slots to try all classes, and things that I really didn’t need. (Among other things I wanted to have my best smoking on when attending to Gwen’s wedding of course. She finally got her Lieutenant! And Primeval Armor was not the best suit for the occasion – NO MATTER STATS. Stats in a broader sense aren’t all there is to life, but maybe it takes a Heart of the North to appreciate that).
Anyhow, I was hoping that ArenaNet could continue their great vision, and develop it and improve it even further. So much for good intentions and building loyalty.
No matter what’s going on behind the curtains, I don’t know… Games have become million billion dollar industry, and money don’t necessarily bring out what just some people were hoping for. ArenaNet cancelled an expansion they wanted to call Utopia. I guess the lesson learned is that money comes before ideals, and I will have to look and wait for others to stand by their visions and good intentions. People like that don’t come around easy.
And for the players who want to have something to do after they reach level 80..
I thought Guild Wars 2 was supposed to be a role playing game? I thought some of the fun was trying out different roles and classes. When you promote a game as RPG shouldn’t it basically be about trying out and develop characters, epic stories and game skills, rather than just the one character that you for some reason wants to apply more and more and more power to. And make it more and more impossible to catch up on with other toons. I just don’t get it.
But for the Love of God, and for the Love of a so far Beautiful Game, I pretty, pretty please hope that ArenaNet won’t abandon this glimpse of Utopia as nothing more than a lonesome Travelers Reverie

I had not played any MMORPG’s before the Guild Wars 1 series, but what I really, really loved there was that it was fairly easy, fast and cheap getting my characters ready to go. I could use any of my characters in any of the expansions, content level and area for the most part, because of the same level cap and standard gear rating between the campaigns. And since it was fairly easy to get characters up to speed it was never any concern trying out different classes and roles, and never having to think about the expenses on armor or weapons or whatsoever to make characters manage and cope, and get access to most game content.
Guild Wars 1 left no toon behind
(From a general point of view I wish it could be easier to try out different classes, gear and traits in GW2. For example be able to try out different gear without paying “big bucks” for it, and maybe just have to discard it later if it doesn’t work out like you thought, salvage runes and sigils without breaking the item and change traits without needing to go to a profession trainer. That would maybe add a little more dynamic to the dynamic and RPG to the RPG)
So if ArenaNet wants Guild Wars 2 to be a role playing game, and not a gear grinding game, shouldn’t they preserve the ease for experimenting and make it less an effort for players to try out different classes, roles and content. After all GW2 is a RPG – and if they want to change the course of action, it would be nice to know.
Even though I have seen some “reassurements” from some that the Ascended quality is a onetime occurrence from i.a. the response from Chris Whiteside:
“Our goal is not to create a gear treadmill. Our goal is to ensure we have a proper progression for players from exotic up to legendary without a massive jump in reward between the two"
“We will not be adding a new tier of gear every 3 months that we expect everyone to chase after and then get the next set and so on.”

From what I can tell the two are literary saying different things and that Ascended quality items are introduced to please some players (the majority?) who want personal (item) progression. If ArenaNet wants to please players in the future by item-progression and better stats on items to strive for, is the right and democratic thing to do – if that is what most players want.
Sure games change, and some say that it’s nothing to be upset about until it’s implemented and we all have to see how it goes. But anyway it would be nice to know the rules of the game (they are already there, but not clearly spoken), so I can better decide if I want to play the game by those rules in the future. I’d rather not spend time and money on something that maybe turns out to be something else than I expected. I would like to try out as much content with as many classes and roles as possible, and already find it hard enough as it is – Extra Character Slot? – Thanks, But No Thanks.
So if there’s a risk that ArenaNet will make it even more difficult with the new qualities or whatever “necessary” items and increasing stats cap in later expansions as Linsay Murdock states in the article, then I’d like to know this for 100% sure, and I want to know it today.
I haven’t quite understood the Legendary versus Ascended debate yet, since the comparison is between Exotic and Ascended stats on a Magic Find ring in the example from the article. Is there going to be Ascended weapons as well, or how do you even compare a Legendary weapon and balance that with a Exotic or Ascended ring? To be honest I think the debate is an absolutely mess, at least for me. And I have lost the overview a long time ago.
I think I’ll go back to Old Ascalon for a while where my love for Guild Wars started , and clear up my mind with a req 9 Longbow and a Armor Rating of 70. Old folks often say it was better in the Good Old Days, I think I know what they mean…
