Yeah I too was running S/F 0/0/30/20/20 however I used a settler’s amulet. In earth took Diamond Skin, Strength of Stone and Obsidian Focus. It’s worth noting obsidian focus, rock barrier, and signet of earth don’t work with strength of stone. signet of restoration, signet of earth, signet of fire, and one other defensive utility (maybe GoEP?). The regen/toughness combo is borderline kittened against anyone without raw damage, however as soon as you lose 1k health it’s gg, which is not hard.
Stone Flesh, Obsidian Focus, Signet of Earth, and Rock barrier do not work with Strength of Stone or with Runes of the Undead. Seeing as how all of these skills/traits increase toughness and the description of Runes of the Undead and Strength of Stone explicitly state that toughness will be converted to condition damage, I think is unintentional that these traits do not have the desired effect. If the stated goal is to increase build diversity I think it would be beneficial for these runes and traits to actually work.

To be honest with you, I would shelf the elementalist for the foreseeable future. They are one of the hardest classes to level up (if not the hardest), and after you hit level 80 you will still have a sub-standard class for PvE as well as WvW (staff is ok for zergs I suppose, but outside of that dont expect to do much).
If you do intend to continue to playing an elementalist (it is still my favorite class despite not being that good), My recommendation would be to get 10 points in Arcana as soon as you can. See what you can do with he Lightning Hammer spam method (I realize this completely defeats the purpose of playing elementalist though :S). Get good at kiting and since you are so squishy it is imperative to watch the enemies for their skill “wind ups” so that you can dodge the greater portion of their attacks. Glyph of storms “sandstorm” is good for blind-tanking enemies as well (they cant do damage if they can’t hit you). There are some good leveling guides around and I would suggest skimming over a few to see what they have to say. Good luck, and welcome to the elementalist class
