“They’re not sitting on their hands doing nothing”.
The perception though is that they are – or at the very least they’re not doing anywhere near enough, or as quickly as is required to control the bots and satisfy the players. Most of us here don’t actually care HOW they do it, as long as they do SOMETHING about it – at a faster pace than up to now. Automating things with the Diminishing Returns seems to be backfiring against players – and even at the simplest level – just 6 active GMs who did nothing but teleport to the location of bot reports and inspect them, you could actively police these reports a lot more effectively than with anti-bot codes.
So – I provide valued and useful evidence of botting and it’s dismissed instantly as it’s not the approved method of reporting. Well, I’m sorry if I’m trying to improve the game, and the community, for both myself and my fellow gamers. Arenanet needs to take swift and very public action against these botters, as competing with these drones for mobs, events, WvW and resources is turning players off the game. If the same swift response was applied to policing the actions of bots as the rigid adherence to forum guidelines, we’d all be a lot happier.
I just had my post that contained botter screens locked and an infraction notice give – as it’s ‘not the best way to inform them about bots – use the report function. The report function is obviously completely useless as there are bots destroying entire zones and the economy – left to bot 24/7 for days, and days and days. We need ACTIVE in game GMs to respond to these bot reports quickly and effectively, not a once a month ’ooh look we banned .002% of the botters’.

Here are some bots in Frostgorge Sound, according to the local player-base they’ve been there for days. Two level 77’s and a group of level 18’s and 19’s – just spamming attacks in all directions til an Arctodus wanders past.
