If I’d complain over anything, it’s when my female norn says things with a voice that isn’t actually hers. Quite often, she will yell in a male voice: “URGE TO KILL RISING!”
That really gets to me. There are a few more examples other than that particular line, but it’s the only one that comes to mind at the moment.
To offer a contrasting opinion, I’ve been pretty happy with the voice acting in GW2 overall. We’ve had much worse examples from GW1 in terms of poor voice acting. …plenty of the voiced cut scenes from Prophecies come to mind – not to mention Danika Zu Heltzer from Factions… :P I’ve actually never felt that the voice acting in GW2 was particularly off, but maybe I’ve been lucky?
I also personally enjoyed the “two people in front of a backdrop” thing, as it made the dialogue feel a bit more like a theatre narrative to me – and I thought that was a playful and fresh thing to do for a computer game. A little less serious for sure, but in return – a lot less pretentious. It also makes it more clear who is talking to who. However, I can see where it’s not necessarily everyone’s cup of tea.
I found this funny, and thought I’d just throw it out there.
Turns out that you can log in to GW1 and GW2 and play them simultaneously, even on the same machine (lol). It made GW1 lag pretty badly though, making it basically unplayable.
The screenshot is taken with characters being in roughly the same place; the eastern fringe of the Black Citadel in GW2, and the Nolani Academy mission in GW1.
:)
I like the voice of the norn female a lot, however, it doesn’t always fit the kind of personality I have on my character. She always delivers her lines like a “fierce” character, not like my “charming” guardian would have.
Apart from that, I can’t complain about her. I like that the voice is on the dark side, and loud, like a norn should be.
Hey, we solved the problem we had sending mail to our guildie. Her mailbox was full.
She wasn’t notified that the mailbox was full however, so she just assumed that it wasn’t. Once she started deleting mail however, queued mail started to pour in.
We’re having the same type of problem with one of our guild officers. She apparently cannot recieve mail from any of us other guild members. This is a problem, since we can’t share materials and other things.
When mailing, we get the message ‘mail sent successfully’, but nothing arrives. This happens to all mails except NPC mail – with or without attachments. She can send mail to us, but not the other way around.

Sweet! Finally back in after almost a week of no-GW2 limbo!
Thank you ANet!
I finally got back in after the recovery page suddenly went live! A week of limbo is over! Tears of joy here…
