Timers don’t count up. Or they are not supposed to do so. They can increase if someone gets a subsequent mark (once he’s back in the game) but you should never see “You’ll be able to rejoin the game in 10 hours” and then see it go up to 11 hours, 12 hours, etc.
If you’re seeing that, that would be bizarre and I’m glad you submitted a ticket.
sorry, i was kidding around, i’m one the unfortunate ones that has a permanent ban due to hacking. so my ‘counter’ goes up in that i am waiting as patiently as i can to get back in the game. i wish i had a count down timer!

where that footer was used to be links to the code of conduct and such. my guess is that there is a broken link and that everyone normally gets to see them, they just named it “permanent_ban” to scare you.

well and here is my fear, that i someday do get my account back after being hacked and something happens that could be misconstrued in a bad way. i’m reading of cases on reddit and stuff about people having no real reason for a ban but they got one anyway. i of course understand that i’m just hearing their side of the story, but still, i don’t like dealing with this.
for some people $60 is a lot of money and the stress of feeling like i tossed it out the window is stressful. i could’ve used that money for many other things but instead i used it to play a game to pass some time and enjoy myself. i don’t like the idea of paying monthly. heck, it could’ve been an offline game. at least then i don’t have to worry about being banned. but i thought i’d give it a try and now i am stuck with nothing and i am constantly checking my email in hopes that when i get home from work i can escape into Anet’s beautiful world that they created.
what’s worse is that yesterday we were hearing all kinds of news saying that they were stepping up the restore process and taking care of those of us that were hacked. and all day today it has been hush-hush.
anyway, sorry, i am venting a bit. i’m not a rage-gamer, i’m typically a quiet family guy. but this is starting to get under my skin.

yep, i’m in the same boat. this is abysmal. while i am not surprised they don’t provide one, a phone number to customer support would be nice. i’d rather wait on hold for 6 hours and get a resolution than sit for days and days with no communication other than “we’re working as fast as we can!”
wow, so not only do we have to wait a week or so for a response? but then we have to wait another up to 72 hours to actually get back into the game? that’s pretty much it for me. i’m done with this game. enjoy my $60 Anet, you basically stole it from me.
sorry for my negativity, i’m really fed up with this wait. so far it is 3-6 times the length it takes for any other company to reply to a ticket.

18 hours since the last Gaile post/reply/assistance. Hopefully, it is due to them getting to the meat of the problem to fix issues that seem to have fallen through the cracks.
Gaile you are missed!!!!! You are like the hand that reaches out as a last ditch effort to help those who are slowly, but surely, dying a slow and agonizing death.

what is this good news we are waiting for? seriously. i’m on about 120 hours of waiting for a resolution, i’ve been told i was in a priority, i updated my ticket numerous times. and now i get my hopes up that maybe i get to play today. this is really getting on my nerves and i’m tempted just to give up and hope that my support ticket asking for a refund goes through.
i really like this game and was enjoying exploring it.

Everyone else — we’re looking at your incidents and find that a lot of them are positioned to be answered very soon. I expect to be able to update with more good news in the morning.
the good news i heard was coming is still yet to be announced. i was hoping that good news was that they’d be catching up on old unresolved tickets yet i have heard nothing. any news on this?

Thanks for the info, it seems i’ve done it correctly this time. Created a new with the date and ref# and closed the other ticket I had.
I hope this gets looked at faster.
I closed my redirecting ticket to my older ticket. But i kept my 9 day old german support ticket open as i think/hope/guess that i may get an answer someday.
But i also made a “new” ticket (3 days old) with the english support as i can priorize tickets there with tags (Hacked account) which is impossible with the german support… so no i won’t close that ticket :P
I closed out my additional tickets as per this post. Please don’t be steering me in the wrong direction, Gaile =/

i was able to re-open the ticket (120902-003411) and updated it with the information i had on the new ticket. if you could go and fix my account that would be super duper! i just tried logging in and i’m still blocked.

Can you try and let me know? I don’t know the answer to that question! If you’ve submitted a new ticket, it’s ok, we’ll get to it, but if you can update the older one, that’s good, too. (And I’d like to know the answer, honestly.)

i also agree, but i got hacked and i’ve been waiting since saturday for a response to my ticket (i understand there are those that have been waiting much longer). i have played lotro for a very long time and now that they are f2p there is a lot of that offensive chat and stupid names that are a distraction to the immersion of the game. so a big thank you for not allowing that.
a friend of mine had his diablo 3 account hacked and he was back up and running in a couple hours. while i agree that there should be a strong response to that behavior there are people who didn’t do anything intentionally wrong that are made to wait and wait just to get back in.
i really enjoyed my time in the game but i think the response and support after they went banhammer crazy has been very bad.
my ticket is 120902-003411, i submitted it saturday night even though the ticket date is 9/2 on the code.
my guess is that i was hacked and a gold seller was using my account. i have updated my ticket according to the guidelines (except for the serial number, i don’t recall seeing one when i bought it directly from Anet). i’ve received nothing in email about what the issue was or any resolution.
i would really love it if i could get back in the game and play tomorrow, i was really enjoying myself…
