I truly wonder what the people complaining in this thread would do if someone told them to play Super Mario 64.
Anyway, I made a little something for you, enjoy:
That’s obviously intended to sound like a 70’s radio.
The item Heavy Penitent Leggings you can buy in Orr for Karma has small stripes of fabric that appear as if they’re intended to have cloth physics, but they don’t, so they just stick out like planks.
(Can’t really show it with screenshots – it really stands out with movement – but here’s one anyway)
I’ve only read the start post and the dev replies, so forgive me if that was brought up already:
The personal story really lacks explanation, lots of it, making it hard to feel into a given situation. Many times, I simply have no clue who someone is, why they’re doing what they’re doing (Logan’s devotion to the queen and his complete absence in terms of centaur war), what their position, influence, history is (the three orders seem like amateurs in the story but kick kitten everywhere else), and what the outcome is (Zhaitan’s looming threat is mentioned nowhere but in Orr).
Although to think of it, it already begins with your choice of profession having no impact on dialogue at all – newcomers to the GW lore simply don’t have a clue what their necromancer/guardian/elementalist/mesmer actually is.
bloom looks good for environments but is way too intense on characters.
may i suggest to add an option to reduce bloom on characters?
Bloom doesn’t work that way.
A while ago, the T1 human heavy cultural pauldron was “bugged” as in it was clipping heavily with the rest of the armor. (See picture – left)
This was “fixed” by turning the pauldron into what you see on the right – a bulky, unfitting mess. It doesn’t even really seem attached to the body.
I think that’s a shame since this armor set is one of those with a realistic approach, which is pretty much thwarted by this new pauldron. Could you please redesign it in a way that it looks like before, but without the clipping issues? That spiky pauldron from the warrior preview looks similar, after all, and it doesn’t clip.
Oh and since we’re at “realistic”: Every character in GW2 is a right hander, so in a combat stance, their left shoulder is exposed, and should be protected by the pauldron instead of the right one. Just a side note!
For a player new to Guild Wars, it’s really hard to find into the game’s lore and story. I think the easiest way to adress that would be to scatter lots of books throughout the game world: Books that explain the races, their history, the professions (I still can’t quite get behind things like Charr Mesmer…), the organizations and what else is there to explain.
This would certainly help a lot with few effort on the programmer’s side.
Also I think books could use a new interface – right now they’re using the same as dialogue, which isn’t really fitting to lots of text – I’m reading the book after all, not talking with it. Something similar to Morrowind or most other RPGs would be more fitting.
