Warrior PVE Leveling Build

Axe/Warhorn <> Rifle <> Signets

Why?
Solo mobs 3-4 levels higher. (and complete stories 3 to 4 levels in advance of the recommended)
Axe = damage damage damage. (and damage)
Warhorn = large up time for speed boost to get around maps, condition removal, buff friends/debuff foes .
Rifle = Burst range damage (kill most mobs before they reach melee range.)

How?
Balance them about 60% Axe/warhorn 40% rifle (would be more 50/50 but the Warhorn is out for traveling). Healing signet, Signet of Might, Signet of Stamina, Signet of Fury, Signet of rage.

Rotation(s): Axe/Warhorn default for Charge = Get around / escape

Rifle – Butal shot, Aimed shot, Bleeding shot, Volley, Rifle butt and repeat or switch to Axe/Warhorn

Axe/Warhorn – Call to arms, Chop(auto attack), Cyclone, Eviscerate, If/when they run Throw Axe, switch back to rifle…

Progression:
level 10 – 20 go Arms to 10 taking deep strike ( hit a lot, crit a lot, they bleed a lot)
at lvl 20 go tactics to 10 and take empowered (take full advantage signet boons).
at lvl 30 go defense and take turtles defense (mobs are getting tougher)
at lvl 40 go arms to 20 and take crack shot (get more use out of the rifle)
at lvl 50 go tactics to 20 and take quick breathing (don’t underestimate a horny warrior)
at lvl 60 go defense to 20 and take last stand (stand up stay alive kill mobs)
at lvl 70-79 go defense to 29 (keep ramping up that toughness and healing to scale with mobs)

Rifle in PvE?

Rifle can be an excellent warrior pve weapon I’m having a blast(pun intended) with it.

I’m just now getting to level 25 on my warrior and I use rifle all the time. I can solo mobs 3-4 levels higher. (and complete my stories 3 to 4 levels in advance of the recommended) My other set is axe/warhorn (love the large up time for speed boost to get around maps in PVE). I balance them about 60% Axe/warhorn 40% rifle (would be more 50/50 but the warhorn is out for traveling). My plan is for a leveling is basically a signet build . Healing signet, Signet of Might, Signet of Stamina, Signet of Fury, Signet of rage.

level 10 – 20 go Arms to 10 taking deep strike ( hit a lot, crit a lot, they bleed a lot)
at lvl 20 go tactics to 10 and take empowered (take full advantage signet boons).
at lvl 30 go defense and take turtles defense (mobs are getting tougher so am I)
at lvl 40 go arms to 20 and take crack shot (get more use out of my rifle)
at lvl 50 go tactics to 20 and take quick breathing (don’t underestimate a horny warrior)
at lvl 60 go defense to 20 and take last stand ( stay alive fight bigger mobs)
at lvl 70 go arms to 25 and get the 10% to bleed (sword causes a lot of bleeds)
at lvl 75-79 go defense to 24 (keep ramping up that toughness and healing to scale with mobs)

http://www.gw2db.com/skills/calc/warrior#11|15|60|3903|66|227|246|0|0|0|0|25|1525|1519|0|24|1084|1081|0|20|1057|1507|0|0|0|0|0|0|0|0|28037|28016|53498|53498|53498|53498|53498|26058|48792|0|0|0|0|

By no means would this be an endgame build( or would it be? ) .. but for PVE leveling .. I think it should allow quick travel, good dps, support versatility, condition removal, and excellent survivability.

@Deria Thanks for your input Sounds as if you prefer PVE to level … When i said where to go from there I didn’t mean where on the map
I should be more specific and ask what traits to follow in which order to maximize the effect of this build during the leveling up process.

Finally is there any advantage to WvW for getting exp ?

Bishopp, props to old school daoc player, thats where I got started too. I answered earlier but getting 10 in arms to get the +40 precision per unused signet and then just going signets until about lvl 60 or so is still the best setup for pve leveling. Greatsword is nice, but I still argue this build is better for kiting and having swiftness up for running around which actually makes pve much faster imo.

I want to also thank you (Yojack and other thoughtful contributors for this positive reading experience. Its SO refreshing to see constructive material on an MMO forum.

I’m new to the game .. about three weeks now.. I have taken several classes to lvl 10 and my warrior to lvl 18.. I am planning to stick with the warrior as my first lvl 80. I am hopnig somone here in this thread can help me map out a quick route to lvl 80 as a warrior.

as ill be 20 soon I have been working toward the advice here to go with signet build starting with 10 traits in arms and get +40 precision per unused signet.

Can i get some advice as to where to go from there .. 20-30, 30-40, etc.?

Also where should i concentrate during those levels? All PVE? WvWvW? Dungeons?

Thanks in advance =)
