MMR and Tpvp does it really exsist?

in PvP

So lets go over this,

MMR or rank is supposed to evenly match you against people of your skill and game play. I assume a system such as this would have been implemented or tpvp would be totally random and useless because the top ranked pvp’er could have faced 10 matches all full of kittens

So assuming it works lets take a look a what happens people queing with moderate to high skill (not taking into account solo vs premade cause that doesnt really matter) are paired with people of thier similar rank to face a team of similar rank. One is then to assume by logic that it would be fairly balanced fight possibly 400 to 500 maybe even 470 to 499. This being said i witness and have been told of matches were its 25 to 500 , 200 to 500. Upon hearing ranks of teammates and witnessing it first hand im to see that rank 1, rank 30, rank 20, rank 38 etc… people are pitted against a team with a minium rank of 49. now of course this doesn’t equate skill with rank etc… but one is to assume with a trashing that hard and that much experince that prehaps the system is not functioning and is in fact lets draw numbers out of a hat.

My question what is being done about this, is there an evident reason this was done? can it not just be brackets of rank? why not go by games won and loss any of these would make better systems. this current system is a disgrace to gw1 and i hope some changes are on the way.

sincerly,

Long time player

Guild Missions [merged]

Well here’s my point of view if anyone is interested at all, i am in a small guild of people i know. i’m not interested in getting into a guild of however man hundreds for many reasons. I love challenging content and i’m all for it but really i don’t consider grinding a challenge i consider it a chore… a challenge would be completing a dungeon in set time frame or adding new bosses that require thinking and skill to beat.

so far as i’m concerned these new “missions” need numbers to beat and w/e the rewards it enforces mob mentality. one of the biggest reasons i started a guild by myself was because i was a long time ago a new player and had no benifeits from being in a guild… a guild is not going to pop a banner because i want one… they arent going to pop +5% exp because i want it…. they will do this because the leaders want it… so i made my own guild with a few people that i could give people i knew or friends these bonuses when they asked… these guild mission banners and such just do the same thing that i disliked to begin with giving control to the leaders and letting the little peon get no control over when or how these things are used.
