This makes GW2 unable to launch until I once again remove the d3d9.dll from the bin folder.
I’m not going to say “Thank you”, as that would be kind of lame, after making us wait this long.
But I AM glad that it is FINALLY fixed.
I’ll definitely be doing the Lost Shores(Don’t know whether they are cursed as well?) until they’re unavailable.
It would have been cool to do the Story Line before that, but nevermind, I’ve lvled far beyond it by now anyway, a few lvls more doesn’t really matter by now.
Looking forward to both the fix and the Lost Shores tomorrow :-)
Jeff’s updates to this issue have been very much appreciated.
We now understand why this bug fix took so long to make it to Live; but like many others in the thread, I would still like to hear about if the team considered other options outside of just waiting for the fix to hit Live.
As soon as you knew the fix was going to have to wait for the next content patch, would it not have been possible to simply skip everyone who was stuck on this quest to the next quest? (or roll everyone back a quest so they could choose a different arc and continue progression?)
If that’s not currently possible, then I think the team should definitely look into creating a tool to help accomplish this in the future.
I think Phor has a -very- good point with his last paragraph. It should definitely be considered.
While I’m not as angered as the guy above me, I do agree with the system being a bit restrictive.
I’ve also experienced being muted by EM for several hours on end.
This has been after 3 LFG messages in map.
When trying to ask in party chat if someone else can ask, I often hear that they too are silenced by EM.
It seems the system could use some tuning.

Barring any unforseen problems, the fix will go in next week’s plus-size content update.

Of course you both might not of known that since they delete posts left and right in an attempt to cover up their imcompetency.
Well yeah, they did say that earlier as well, about the november 5th update. But this time they gave an honest attempt of explaining.

IT IS NOT FIXED! THIS IS MY 3RD ATTEMPT TO SEE IF YOU DID REALLY FIX IT AND YOU DID NOT!
They haven’t implemented it yet, which you would have known if you had read through the posts by the developers.
The fix is coming with next content update.
It’s absolutely reassuring that someone actually came with an explanation for the trouble with the fix. (That’s really all it takes for us to give you lenience… You responding with more than “We don’t have an ETA, sorry”.)
But as it has previously been stated; it does NOT explain why the questline is STILL available. New people are getting stuck by the second…
This is STILL bugged. It has now been bugged for 2 days short of a month. That’s really… unbelievable.
I’m just lucky I only recently came upon this quest, as opposed to those who have been waiting for 28 DAYS!!!
What annoys me is the insane time of amount it apparently takes to fix this.
You could at least have made it impossible to CHOOSE this quest 27 days ago!!
There are new players encountering this bug BY THE MINUTE.
PLEASE, for the love of god, FIX IT! Because the latest update did NOT.
Off to play some other game until it’s been fixed, cause NO, I don’t want to make MORE characters.
