Guild Wars 2

Hello to all.

Is there a good way for an Engineer to Level in terms of focusing on a specific aspect? Is there an “easy mode” leveling build like there has been for other classes?

To all:

I am a casual player of GW2 and also just got a hold of Battlefield 4. My wife and I have our small private guild we use for family and friends, but what I am looking for is a community that would be willing to show us some more of the ropes in this game, allowing us to better your group while still understanding we have a young baby, and she is priority number one (and one hell of an end boss, at that :-P )

We do not expect things for free, nor should we. We do contribute to drives for materials, I love to support in instances when I can. My main character that’s level 80 is an Engineer, and she and I both tinker around on different characters. We’re not as developed as most, but that’s because our daughter spent the first 3 months of her life last year in the NICU, and then from there it’s just been a roller coaster getting everything adjusted.

Bear with me, and by extension us, and we will be quality, kind members to your unit.

The Battlefield side note is that I play Battlefield 4 on the Xbox One, and would be elated if your community had members in kind there. I am not l33t at that game, as I am more traditionally an MMO player, but I do enjoy head shots.

Our experience prior:
WoW combined 12 years, Hardcore until the end of BC. PvE for both, me more PvP
SWG combined 6 years, loved all PvP and PvE we could do.
A slew of the F2P MMO’s

Side points:
Love Magic: The Gathering. Wish we had more people in our area into it.
Musicians – Me Bass/Guitar, her drums
Real life is a priority, but when we can contribute we will of course do so.

TL;DR: Husband (and likely wife) doing our thing together, looking for a group who favors equally life and gaming on multiple fronts.

Where do you guys go to find builds? It seems like there are a few everywhere, but no central location for a majority of them…

So, this is likely going to get mixed responses. I have not played Guild Wars since May-June, due to life being a bit hectic.

What’s new that I should learn about? Have there been huge balance changes to the Engineer class as a whole? I see a new healing skill that reads pretty cool. However, I fall back to those of you more up to speed.

Also, if there is a place where I could read a tl;dr version of the last few updates (The wiki is ok, but that’s tough at work) that would be awesome.

This is something I thought about the other day. I know that an option exists where you can just have areas automatically deploy on the mouse location if you so choose… How about another that will center the attack around your target?

Reasoning for this thought is a bit personal of course, it would benefit how I play a lot more otherwise I wouldn’t suggest it. I do feel that there may be some who would enjoy this.

Now, let’s see who thinks I am out of my mind. :-)

My wife is having this same issue on her account… Seems to always happen in the midst of action. And she is running on just a laptop, no 2nd screen or anything.

This thread is coming from a (still) leveling engineer. I’m solid in understanding the mechanics of the class for the most part, as it’s very similar to other role’s I’ve had in previous games. However, the Engineer is probably the most multifaceted class I’ve ever seen personally.

Does anyone else have issues settling in? I have never been a spec hopper until this character. But I’ve done Rifles/Gadgets, Kit oriented builds, Pistols/Potions, Turrets… I can’t decide, so I am hoping maybe other preferred styles from my peers here can spark my mind.

I’m not looking for THE answer, I just simply am curious of different pros/cons people have run into playing with a certain build.

Care to discuss?

Does it work with any of the elixir gun talents? If I am understanding it it may work with Super Elixir…

I have one file that is it appears to be pretty small that just will not download so I can finish. This was after 99% was completed. Is this something that has been happening alot?

If you are looking for members that are mature, that is us. Currently we just started this guild, but my wife and I are 25, and my mother (yes they ALL play) is… I’ll let her divulge that.

Definitely going to be a busy week, but we will keep an eye on both the post here, our forum messages, and our online mail. We want to be as accessible as possible, because we know there are more people out there like us.

Also to add to this, since Guild Wars has the ability to have multiple guilds, you need not feel like you belong to us and us alone. We are always looking for friends and family, but we are just not of the mindset to rub our faces against the wall with content anymore.

We will help however we can to work with members on their adventures. If a member in good standing has another guild needing something we can help with we would definitely do what we can.

This guild is for the players that need a group to hang out with, but have not the spare time to belong to a dedicated, harder core guild.

Not at all a dig on the focused guilds. If we can help friends, as I said, we will.
