Not just that, the engine hits a point that the game just cant keep up.
Money would be better spent on Quad 680s, or dual 690s if you are not using it for calculation.
You will likely have issues with that card, (Also nice trollin) due to the fact that it is a workstation card, not a gaming card. The drivers will not work well with games most of the time.
WvWvW has very little to do with the actual PC after a point. I am playing on a 980X, with dual 690s. I do not have much of a lag issue graphically, however the game chokes on loading of people. It is the engine, not your PC after a point.
Also, I get skill lag, and that just seems to be server side lag again. It is not my connection, it has to be ANets end, it quite sucks.
(I hope you are doing rendering and such for that FirePro. I personally use mine for rendering but I go with game cards even though they do not CUDA as well as actual quatro cards, they give me the ability to game well!)
I believe that siege equipment needs to be purchasable ONLY by badges of honor, therefore only active and experienced players can purchase and deploy it as well as mitigating the ease of access and spam which comes from it being so easily accessible by gold. Of course the 24 hour match length also ties into the balance and importance of siege equipment.
One of the things I’ve not liked about WvW is the pay2win nature of siege equipment and upgrades (i.e. dollars to gems to gold … or strictly dollars to gold via 3rd party).
It isnt “Pay2win” at all. You get 3 bits of siege equipment from the jumping puzzle per day. You can do this 3 times in each borderland. Please do not start calling this p2w, as it is anything but. WvWvWing, you make plenty of spare silver for equipment.
This is a terrible, and incorrect mentality to have at this point.
JQ has jokes!
Last night in the SBI Borderlands, JQ was attacking the bay to the south, while we were sieging the north. We even sent a squad down to help JQ get through the outter gate that HoD was keeping them off of.
Once JQ entered the siege, they turned around and started trebbing a gate… Ok, as long as you are still distracting HoD, I didnt care. Then JQ turns around and thinks that its too slow and goes after our camp… We turn around and have to stomp JQ out, because they are not focused on the prize. After we send JQ off, we return to the keep siege and then breach the wall.
Taking the Bay in a 3 way fight is a heck of good time!
I will have a video up shortly of the final assault. Was fun, cant wait til we get the week long matches, so it just stops being who has the most night/aussie crew instantly wins the game.
tl;dr: There are no such things as allies.
