A small group of friends and often get together and simply debate game ideas hightlights/improvements. A particular idea keeps resurfacing and I thought it would be cool to speak to the idea and see how its responded to on official forums.
Through some other forums, I’ve noticed there are some differences of opinion concerning level 80 content, particular referring to dungeons and such. I’d myself like to believe that Areanet will address these issue in time as they seem pretty interested in listening to ideas and responding to forum questions.
If I could I would remind readers that this is a new game and like a child, will grow into something better with time and through experience.
Anyway, the idea:
Some of us old school gamers remember playing STARFOX for Super Nintendo. For me the enjoyment came from the ability to choose your own path depending on how you finished a level or through a secret path. The game, in my opinon, was pretty cool by itself but the chance at finding all the potential paths resonated well with me.
What if a seperate world/area was reserved for 80 lvl characters that had this same concept in mind however focused on dungeons? Add in the already existing formula for multiple paths and story paths within those dungeons, and it increases the possible paths one/or group can take.
At the end of each dungeon set (3 events inside the dungeon) you were given access to a “saving station” so you could return to that point along that path. At least we wouldn’t have to play through all the dungeons all at once, possible hours of content depending on the evolution of this particular idea.
Now, add in the potential for multiple “end game content” at certain points or possible multiple endings of such. A little GW1 atmosphere with a dash of Starfox path progression!
Grant it, I admit this sounds like an idea for a seperate game, but again I’m just throwing out an idea to get it churned around by other readers. I would also point out that, in my opinion, WvW is very much a seperate area people have access to that some could see as a seperate/addition to GW2.
