More info: Took a lengthy break from playing, hoping DR would reset. Logged about 2 hours over last two days. Did more than 10 events, mostly in CS (entire Plinx chain, various other events around shelter/penitent). On a positive note, first time back, veterans and champs were dropping far more frequently. On a negative note, and why I won’t return to this game until this is addressed: 0 rares across something like 500 mobs (maybe more). 1 putrid essence, if that counts (it certainly doesn’t for me).

As a note, I moved around each time to at least 3 zones. I did receive some T6 mats, but mostly got porous bones. Hope you all fix this soon! See you when things change.

Here is some more info for devs:

2 days of Cursed Shore events and farming, between 1 and 3 hours per day. MF (5 piece pirates, 1 explorer, MF gear on trinkets, 30% food, banner at times — total of 130+, not sure exact #)

Total rares: 0.

Estimated Chains: 4x Shelter, Jofast Chain x2, Penitent x3, Jofast’s defense x2

Spark farming for 30-45 minutes. Mob slaying between all events.

Considering the only drop of value at 80 is a rare or better, this is near-useless for me as a player, and, aside from WvW, GW2 is becoming little more than an uninspiring time-waster. No hope at a legendary at this rate (despite having the precursor).

Again, about 4 hours of playtime in 80 zones with near-max MF (minus booster), 0 rares.

To add to my earlier post, did the following events in Orr: Shelter’s Gate x2, Jofast Chain, Plinx Chain, Final 2 events of Grenth Chain (including chest), Champ Risen Abomination, Explorer Chain from shelter. In all maybe 15 events. One rare drop. A traveller’s dagger of air (always drops, if anything).

In my party, one person had no rare drops for about the same group of events. Another had one rare and, right before I left, an exotic.

My MF was 104 and 114, with another buff. Rare came after about 45 minutes (despite my original post) off a regular mob.

I’ve experienced a drastic decrease in rare drops across all maps, but particularly in Orr. MF ranges from 0 to 150, as it seems to make little difference for my drop rates currently. If a rare drops it is consistently within my first 15 minutes of logging on, even if I switch maps and types of instances (e.g., Orr to Malchor to WvW). I haven’t received a rare from a chest in at least my last 15 PVE events. Dungeons seem a little better.

Previously I could receive from 1 to 4 rares in one event in Orr. I have not seen a rare in a single Orr event since Nov. 15th, and I’ve run hundreds.

EDIT: Champs/vets rarely drop loot, never rares. The loot situation has had a major impact on my enjoyment of the game.
