Guild Wars 2

I am looking for a small to medium sized relatively active guild and an engaged community to game with. I’ve been playing since launch in an extremely on and off manner, but since HoT is out, I’ve been looking to get back into things. I’ve got a few 80’s but at the same time, I’ll admit that my actual mechanical knowledge is fairly weak, which is honestly one of the reasons I’ve decided to look for a guild.

While that is probably technically correct, it is also not something I am interested in doing.

So, I fairly recently got my thief to 80, and I decided to use them to finally get into PvP. The issue is that I came to this decision mere days before the Specializations patch was introduced, and I now have no bloody clue whats going on.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, as this is completely new ground for me.

I have 1800 hours on ele and 500 hours on warrior. From what I can see is that my warrior is doing at least 2x the damage my ele is doing while having 5000 more hp. He also seems more useful to other teammates with those banners.

Actually Elementalist are in a really great place right now. They have one of the best DPS of the game for PvE and are now regularly use for min/max speed run.

For WvW, elementalist are one of the good Ranged DPS with great support with combos field.

So thats a difference of opinion…

So I am returning to the game after a long hiatus and considering rolling up an Elementalist.

However, after catching up in the forums, all I have seen is that Eles are in a really awful place right now: falling short of practically every other class, and with no sign of change on the horizon.

So, is it worth the effort to try them? I am more focused on PvE and getting it leveled then WvW or PvP, if that makes any difference
