Just switched 1 water for 1 grove and added another grove. +15% Protection duration didn’t stack either.
I just bought 3 water runes and 2 dwayna runes and socketed them into my armor. Water gave me +15% boon duration, but the dwayna runes didn’t add +20% regen duration.
Skills considered: Hold the Line! and Save Yourselves!.
Is that working as intended? Are they supposed to not stack? If so, kitten I wasted 1,7g.
Thank you.
Hi.
I wear AC’s Soldier’s armor too. Here is what I did:
*Knight’s weapons, Rings and Necklace (exotics);
*Soldier’s back and acessories (greens, meh. still working on it).
As you can see, I have DPS with survivability.
Nice video. I enjoyed the build but I can’t stop thinking about those 10 points in Valor. Don’t you feel a bit squishy? I mean, I can’t conceive a build without at least 20 points on it. Not saying you’re wrong. You definitely have more experience than me, but tell me about your tanking capabilities.
I’m asking, becouse I’ve always wanted a healing build. The first gear (rare) I bought at 80 was Cleric’s, but I couldn’t make it work. Also, how does that shout build work for small combats, like 2×2 or 2×4 (2 on your side)?
Meditations it is, then. Thank you very much.
@DeadlyRush
I run a 2 meditation build. I just wanted something tankier without sacrificing too much my dps.
I use sword/focus and scepter/torch, but I’d like to wear a shield and switch the scepter for something else. I have an amazing burst dps, but I want to have more ulility, even that I must give up on some of that dps. I usually party with a Thief (friend of mine) and I was hoping I could help keeping him alive, buff him and CC without having the disposable dps of a bunker build.
In a few words, I want a good 1×1, 2×2, 2x?? (?? goes from 1 to 4) build, that gives me great survivability and support skills with some (some, not huge) dps. What I want is closer to a bunker than to a glass cannon build.
I would love to hear suggestions.
As I said before, I wear Soldier’s armor and Knight’s weapons and trinkets (still working on trinkets). Keeping that would be great.
Thank you!
Great consideration, folks.
I already have a 37% critical chance and it’s growing, since I’m switching my Soldier’s trinkets (all greens) for Knight’s (all exotics).
Thank you for explaining me how retaliation works. I didn’t know it was a flat dmg.
Yea, I noticed that. Despite that, what do you think?
Forgot to tell you the gear: Soldier’s Armor and Knight’s Trinkets and Weapons.
Hello everyone.
I made this build for WvWvW. Found it versatile with high survivabilty (a must for me) and good dps potencial.
I’ll explain my decisions:
I – AH’s heals are lame and I won’t survive becouse of that. But it goes well with Healer’s Retribution. With 2 shoults and a buffing signet, I can keep retaliation up for a long time.
II – Inscribed Removal with 2 signets avaiable, Purity and Signet of Resolve’s passive grant me good condition removal.
III – Sword and Shield is a good combination and Honorable Shield makes it even better.
IV – 30 points in Radiance helps me having better DPS.
V – Sword and Greatsword help me keep close to my target. Despite of Salve Yourselves’s high cooldown, it also helps on that.
VI – Renewed Focus recharges my virtues so with Virtue of Resolve up again, I can get another stack of retaliation.
I want a tanky dps build. More “tanky” than “dps” to be honest. In other words, wanted to be survive a lot without having an ignorable dps.
Please tell me if you find this build consistent. I’m not asking if you would use it, I know everyone has a different opinion. Just tell me if I missed or misinterpreted something.
Thank you.
The argument isn’t strong for bunker builds or glass cannon. This isn’t spvp. It’s WvW/mass pvp. I don’t care about dying to a thief on my ranger. And I don’t care about owning a thief.
My job is to pew pew as many people as possible to make it easier for my team to do w/e objective they’re trying. I can stay behind them and run in and out of range on my ranger. I don’t need to be a bunker build and nerf my damage to do that. You can play smart with glass canons…
Were not talking about rangers though. Were talking about the bunkers that you hide behind so you can Pew pew from safety and run away. Were talking about roamers and scouts. Were talking about tanky players that initiate fights from the front lines. Bunkers have a very different job than rangers. Just because you play a ranger doesn’t make the OPs post invalid. Its just a different way or thinking than you.
I keep hearing this same argument that WvW isn’t spvp and that roamers, small parties or scouts are not affective in WvW. This simply isn’t true in fact the exact opposite. Scouting, taking camps, and killing other small groups of roamers is extreemly important in WvW. Soloers and Small partys can also ninja towers and tacticalaly destroy enemy siege with surgical precision. All while everyone else is mindlessly zerging around without a clue what is going on and what needs to be done. Just following a commander that might be just as clueless.
Edit, A solo roamer or even a 2 can turn the tide of a entire battle by disrupting enemy supply lines. Or scouting enemy positions and reporting them back in chat. These are people with real map awareness and know the layout of the land. People that are in the know. Taking small objectives like destroying quggan weather nodes can stop siege from being destroyed by lighting. Killing Dolys to prevent Towers and keeps from being upgraded. Taking sentrys for harassment. Solo attacking guards to contest a Waypoint so the enemy cannot port to their keep. These things as small as they seem are a huge help and Is way more helpful than someone who is just zerging in the back pew pewing. And if these things are left unchecked becasue all people want to do is zerg they dont get done fast enough or get done at all untill some commander gets the bright idea to lead a zerg to it. Which maybe a long time or never. Then they wonder why all of their camps are flipped and no one seems to being doing anything.
Lol. None of this really applies to populated WvW.
Roaming =/= valid WvW strategy. It’s an excuse people use when they suck at team play.
Not really. I know how to zerg and I know its necessary. But, small teams are very usefull for keeping the enemy busy by conquesting enemy’s supply camps. I’m a guardian and I do that with a thief firend. We feel we help much more by doing that than by joining the zerg. BG is owning SoR becouse they have small groups everywhere and not only a huge brainless zerg (I know that becouse I play at SoR). Zergs are needed, they just don’t get all the job done.
Also, I would like to say that was an awesome video. Could you please tell me your build? I would love to try it sometime.
Edit: I’m refering the fist video, linked at the original post.

What about gear? Cleric’s or Soldier’s?
What’s the best healing bunker build for WvW and PvP? I’m using the 0/0/30/30/10 Altruistic Healing (AH) build and wearing Cleric’s amor. But I saw lots of people talking about the meditation build. What do you guys think?
Thank you for your advices, guys. They really helped me to understand how this calss works. I must say I’m impressed that guardians can output so much DPS. That’s great, becouse I have a great variety of roles to pick.
After several years playing PvP in MMOs I’ve learned the value of CC and survivability skills. I want a character able to CC enemies and survive in the battle, without being a failure at 1×1 fights.
I know Guardians are great supporters but here is what I want to know about them:
1 – How well can they go against other classes in 1×1 fights? Sometimes I roam in WvW looking after caravans, alone (please don’t judge this playstyle, that’s not the point).
2 – Are 2 handed weapons build viable?
3 – Is the lack of HP when compared with Warriors, an issue for survival? I’m asking this, becouse Warrior was my first class and I’ve noticed that.(Don’t rage, please. I don’t want this to become a Guardian x Warrior rage thread).
4 – How is the DPS output?
5 – Am I wrong for not finding Guardian’s playstyle facerolling? I read a lot that it’s a very easy to play class, but I feel a bit lost with so many support skills at my disposal (currently weaing mace+shiled/staff).
Thank you very much. A nice weekend to you all.
